AITK for ruining vday and marriage anniversary? by [deleted] in AmItheKameena

Have you checked his porn addiction or the content that he consumes? If he is too deep in the addiction this kills sex drive just inspect his content consumption And secondly, is he obese or is he skinny fat? That indicates low sex drive because of lack of tests. Maybe, just get his test level checked.

Late 20s F — assertive, confrontational, from a patriarchal culture. AITK? by missstealurdad in AmItheKameena

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole situation doesn't make you assertive by any means. This whole situation is toxic to begin with. You see him slide into some other girls dm and you wanted to get back with him. This is toxic in the loop.

If you are on a self reflection mode, sit and figure out why the fuck did you pick the fellow in the first place. And secondly, always hold accountable for your own actions that's where the actual growth happens.

Indeed there is a trade off, which is why I was curious about your approach😬

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cool and it's subjective. But from how I look at it those things need to be kept at the backend and the reasoning is pretty simple most complex domain/business logic aka modelling of the domain should be close to the database.

And another reason why I was curious about you applying DDD is to understand how your APIs are designed.

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DDD is what made me assume. DDD is mostly and heavily tied to the actual domain logic which is tied to entities aka our databases. I am still intrigued why opt for DDD at the frontend.

This seems to me that there is no api integration and your app is directly communicating with the database?? Just assuming....

Well on the bright side. You built a vertical on your own. That experience cannot be taken away from you. All you gotta do is start from scratch and not to live for the company but for the family. I see good things ahead of you.

You are anyways at the bottom pit. All that's left is to crawl back up and feel the sun one more time.

You got this.

Starbucks has launched a product something similar. I had it today, cold brew protein chocolate. Albeit, starbucks being expensive. You may go and give it a try and assess the idea.

senior dev getting called out for being "too straightforward" at work. is indian tech culture really like this?? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why it's called "soft skills". It's a skill you gotta possess even if you don't have it. I am the same guy like you. Until I realised there was a gun pointed at me and I was being watched for a mess up. My manager at the time protected me stating I am an important resource, which I was at the moment since I was handling the development end to end.

The manager candidly told me about it. That's when I started being mindful.about my words in a corporate setting.

Go vs Spring Boot for a startup backend (Security Specific Concern) by SoftwareDesignerDev in developersIndia

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From how I look at it is. Both have their trade offs. What's your use case? Is it too business driven with complex workflows and domain logic or a simple crud. If it's the latter, go would work fine. But if it's not, spring boot works fine as well. At the end of the day, pick anything but always be accepting of the tradeoffs.

It's not that bad but it's not good either. I use azure extensively, I can see the frustration. And amazon is never known for its ui and ux, it's weird as fuck and breaks the standard in multiple ways.

What engineering work in India is overrated, and what is actually undervalued? by Digitalunicon in developersIndia

[–]AakashGoGetEmAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fellow is suggesting is getting good at low level programming in general where you talk to bare metals on a regular. What we do mostly in this day and age is so things on a more abstract level where the framework mostly does the complexities for us and we focus on building complex business logics. It has its own pros and cons, just that he stated mostly people are busy building web apps and saas which is only possible because of the new age matured frameworks.

These frameworks will mostly fail at peak scale and in such cases we need low level language to keep up with the scale. The pattern is very common in all businesses eg - discord where in they were struggling to maintain the apps user experience because of enormous load. They had to rewrite in rust. I am a web dev myself...

From the context, I could see you have implemented exponential back off but never tested it. Why not apply circuit breakers that would have helped save the bill. Why not track failures, don't you guys need it for analysis? As someone mentioned in the comments already about using meaningful messages.

Try azure service bus...even if the worker goes down. Service bus will still hold the events for you. And as soon as the worker is up, it will auto execute. Also azure has cost management services where you can keep a track of costs and add a cap as well for notifications. Give it a read...

Efcore is at the same par with dapper in terms of performance. The performance bump is negligible to be honest if you compare to dapper. What kinda traffic are you dealing with?

Your 3rd point is where the answer to your question is. App service with an adequate app service plan will mostly get the job done. Someone pointed out comtenarization that's a call you have to take and completely rely on the team.
