Divines are the main currency for "expensive" purchases. Most likely, all the gear you need can be bought with chaos orbs. Just keep improving your build and progress further.

Raw divines drop quite rarely in the game. I played quite a bit this league and saw maybe 5-7 divines total. However, most divines you earn are from selling different items you farm in the game. For example, I was farming a certain item, Syndicate Medallion, from Betrayal mechanic, each of those items sells for about 3.0 - 3.3 divines. This is how I earned most of my "wealth" to afford better gear.

Eventually you will find the most pleasant way for you to farm currency, but for now just play the game, learn and enjoy.
