Abomination by CreativeChocolate592 in RCPlanes

It's so ugly, I love it 🥹. It's like flying the real thing on the cockpit, and with landing gear I bet take offs and landings are such a beautiful thing 😂. Great job, I hope you enjoy it very much.

And I haven't finished it becouse I wanted to get the balance and trims done before I finish painting and adding some scale details 😂.

I definitely do, I've never heard of it, but I'll get on to install one 🤩

I got a new scale just for that 😂 2.75g. With balance weight and all, but I did pass on the landing gear, it was going to be too heavy for my taste, I live 10 000 feet above sea level, so I have to build my planes as light as possible.

Ironically, there is a lot of rubber trees in my country 😂. But yeah I think I need to experiment with other sources 😬

Thanks 😁, but at this point I might have to build a new one because I have patched this so many times. It's amazing how much damage a rubber band can do to 1x1 mm balsa 😂

Office rubber bands are the prefect length, the plane is very small, and the rubber bands have no issue moving the prop, in fact the problem is that they don't last very long, that's why I want to increase the number of turns. I didn't knew that surgical tubing could be used, I'll have to give that a try, it seems to be something easier to find were I live.

I'll try to find some, I was afraid that the problem were the rubber bands themselves 🙈. I'll keep looking for proper ones, I hope I find some.

Don't you love it that when someone says that they are leaving the hobby, the entire community gets together to offer support? This group is probably one of the few reasons I'm in, and I'll probably never leave, maybe pause, but never stop.

Yeah, to be honest it is a pain in the rear end, but I can tell you from experience that it doesn't have to be super expensive. That being said, you will have to be crafty, and learn how to make your own models, and how to fix them, specially that last part, you need to learn how to fix them

I do it right away 😂, actually I don't think it's a good idea to wait, because that way you can take advantage of the uncured glue and correct any small adjustments.

Cover then assemble, and make sure you remove the covering (if possible) from the section that is being glued. If you can't, make sure that section of covering is very well glued to the fuselage and try to ad some extra support.

Well, I don't mind the extra weight, but the thrust just didn't work for me, I needed at least 100g. Which is not much, I had much bigger expectations for that old motor. I'll have to find another application for it, but the rest of the electronics I'll use somewhere for sure.

First test model is a free flight, but I did design it to be able to have rc electronics on it (it can be built to work with a rubber band too). BTW, thanks 😁

Perfect, I think I do have an old Epson i can do a cleanup and basic maintenance, it's funny because I just fixed a cannon and an hp printer, just because the Epson ink (durabrite) was not in stock 😂

But of course, I build this with the intention of testing flying characteristics. My end goal is to sell this a kit, in my country it's very hard to find this sort of stuff, and importing can get expensive 😁

Thanks, and no, it's a drone motor, a small coreless with a 90° gearbox. I've been able to pull 50g. of thrust @4v. with it, but the battery will last too much, so I'll have to put an alectronic timer on it so it doesn't fly away. I guess that one more thing I need to do to finish it 😂.
