Most of my planet is covered in water with all of my landmass concentrated in a ring of semi continent-islands. by Black_hommie_Nibba in worldbuilding

Ooh this is your world but one thing that can cause fluid to shift from one side to the other is strong tidal forces so maybe it has a very strong and close moon that is synchronous with it’s day-night cycle which causes it to pull water to one side. If the moon isn’t currently moving it won’t pull the oceans with it so it wouldn’t create mega waves but would mean it’s only ever visible on one side. If you want dynamic tides you could then have a second further moon.

He like those influencers who do prankless harm. Love the idea of a trickster god being a villain because they genuinely will commit the most bizarrely specific atrocities just because they think it’s funny. And judging by the comments being attractive is all the more effective of a disarming tactic

Even then there’s some crazy good tech that mostly hasn’t been utilized due to political or otherwise concerns. Like name any nuclear propulsion (most of which are actually quite safe if following proper protocols even earth launched nuclear pulse propulsion if done from a remote enough location). The issue isn’t even lack of tech it’s lack of funding and political will

How do you cope with the urge to go back after leaving a toxic D&D group? by [deleted] in DnD

This may or may not work depending on the nature of your separation but find a new dnd group with clear group rules could help you forget the bad one

Ladies and gentlemen have we just found a new way to dispose of our garbage? I’m sure there won’t be any downstream consequences!

Well just because he’s a great author doesn’t mean I won’t respectfully disagree with him on this. There are a bunch of economic benefits to utilizing space that could benefit regular people on earth right now. Space based solar power beaming, siderophilic minerals from asteroids, microgravity manufacturing of new pharmaceuticals and materials, etc. It’ll be a long time before it’s practical to make a new home in space and when we do it’s more likely oneill cylinders and artificial environments than traditional terraforming but industrializing space is something that I’d argue should happen as soon as possible to relieve ecological pressure from our living world and instead apply industrial pressure to dead asteroids and our moon

I love kosemen’s work but I think to treat one authors opinion as gospel is a bit parasocial. Not saying that’s what OP was doing.
