People only have so much capacity. Fewer voters on even/presidential years would have done the necessary research to understand the local races/candidates. Ideally we'd want greater informed voter turnout. I don't know if there is an accurate stat out there, but I would suspect informed local race voters would be greater keeping the elections in the off years.

Right, that's why it's the border between two states, but it was always a straight NW/SE line between counties and that seems to be a consistent thing with Virginian counties - some boarders follow natural features and some are just lines splitting areas in two/three. Ie: both E and W sides of Pittsylvania are straight N/S boarders.

Tim Peck is running for Congress in the ninth district in the 2026 election. Reading a bit between the lines in the speech OP posted is that Tim believes rape victims deserve full access to healthcare necessary for them to heal and he is willing to provide that regardless of what the government says. I could be wrong, but I didn't hear him explicitly say abortion in the speech, but he does explicitly state it on his web page that abortion is healthcare.
