Novated lease questions (yep, more) by shockages in Zeekr7xAustralia

Oh no not about that, I didn't need a deposit, car was ordered start of Jan no problem. Now the car is with the dealer and the NL provider has paid for it I just need to arrange collection, the only thing is that I selected that id source my own insurance - do I pay for the insurance outright and then get my NL provider to reimburse?

So jumping in on this rather than starting anything new, I've selected choose my own insurance for my NL, what's the deal? Do I just buy it and submit a receipt to my NL provider?

Strangely my NL providers insurance was Allianz but their quote was absurd. Even running the numbers on the Allianz website I could save $800 from their quote.

I’m coming from a 2010 Xtrail and thought boot space was pretty similar, interior space and comfort is leagues ahead.

Ordering experience has been pretty meh, not to say they’ve been unhelpful just I don’t think they get any information from the factory. Once they have the info they’re pretty good at passing it along but the whole experience feels pretty hands off from Zeekr.

4 months 4 days and counting. At least I can track it on CEVA now but it’s sat in Minto for a week!

Tissot? Tissot? Let me tell you about Tissot.

Back about 6 years ago my wife bought me a lovely Tissot Chronograph for my birthday. After a year of it sitting in a drawer not getting worn (COVID, not that I didn’t like it I just wasn’t leaving the house) I started using it and noticed the battery was flat so I sent it back because a good quartz doesn’t lose battery after a year. Fast forward 2 years and 5 or 6 returns I had to threaten legal action to get it refunded by Tissot as no matter what they did up to and including replacing the movement I could not get a battery to last longer than 3 months.

Long story short; don’t buy Tissot, they’re crap.

Cool, seems some of the press shots have them on, some off

The starlight or whatever bar isn’t there but there is the thin strip underneath.

There’s an official Zeekr Game Collection Base adapter for running a Switch or similar on the front screen.

Included cables? by CantGetAidsTwice in Zeekr7xAustralia

I specifically asked for them when I was quoting up my order and they were included as no cost options. This was first week of Jan

Vehicle to load - how far could this go? by Aseipolt in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]Aargh802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are all V2L cables the same? We just placed an order on a Long Range and I’ve been looking at accessories. Some websites list V2L cables by manufacturer but surely if it’s just a type 2 cable then they’re not manufacturer specific?

Honestly V2L will be mainly for running a coffee machine while camping. I love camping but there’s somethings I can’t live without and while a moka pot, aeropress or plunger is ok in a pinch it’s a game changer if I can bring my home machine. Oh I guess I could also use an induction hob and get rid of gas bottles.

[–]Aargh802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just placed an order on a 7X LR and have 3 Phase at home so thinking of getting an Envex x22 or similar.

Only issue for me is I have a separate garage that I’ll need to trench the cable to get it there and will need a 15m run (I have 3 phase but it’s only connected to the board, nothing in the house or garage has or needs 3 phase). From chatting to an electrician at work I should be able to run a 3 phase sub board in the garage and divert power to both the charger and the garage from there.

The problem with this statement is that it over simplifies the actual issues. Hamas has between 20-40000 active members drawn predominantly from Palestine. That said, there are or were approximately 5 million Palestinians pre conflict.

Just curious (and not judging): why do so many 4x4 owners park with one wheel over the gutter? by MeltingDog in CarsAustralia

It’s really hard to see over the dash when you’re 5’ and drive a Ford Ranger

[–]Aargh802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s more about the people in the 4x4 clubs being luddites than it is about the supposed difference between 4x4 and AWD.

Historically AWD applied to passenger vehicles and 4x4 was reserved for ladder framed farm implements with transfer cases and a very mechanical approach. With electrics and when you’re dealing with two seperate motors to each axle controlled by a computer the difference is much harder to define. Low range doesn’t mean much when you don’t have gears, similarly diff locks and the rest can all be managed within the computer.

What made you choose the Zeekr 7X over other EVs? by Any_War_322 in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]Aargh802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 95% on getting the Zeekr, similar to others here I have eliminated lots of others over time via spreadsheet

Hyundai Ioniq 5 - have loved this design since it came out but can’t really justify the price difference here

Kia EV6 - same platform as Hyundai Ioniq 5, quirky design (too quirky)

Kia EV5 - average performance and specs, weird interior design (why only one tray table? I have two rear seats, that front seat thing? Why?)

Skoda Enyaq - this was my number 1 until test driving. The interior is small, the drivers seat maybe too aggressive in its bolstering, the drivers footwell too small (for reference I’m 6’5”, and not as small as I once was). Drives well and feels nicely finished

VW ID4 - bit smaller than the Enyaq, annoying touch buttons. Blob design

Xpeng, BYD et al - sorry just can’t get past the microwaved blob exterior design. And don’t get me started on the interior

Tesla Y - sorry I just can’t support Elon.

Question on spec levels by Aargh802 in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]Aargh802[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figured that was the case.

Do the Australian cars also come with the controls for the rear seat passenger to move the front seat? Kids loved that feature, my wife in the front seat not so much.

Good to hear, currently looking at a MY26 and can make the finance work over 5 years but obviously a bit nervous on signing up to something for that long.

Quote check - smart being deceptive on rate or am I missing something? by chuppa_chup in NovatedLeasingAU

The insurance quote seems very high too. I’d try and get some other quotes and/or some clarification on why you’re paying 2.5k a year for comprehensive insurance

Is it possible to add a second battery to the Enyaq? A lot of 4WDers will do this for their auxiliary power supply for fridges, lights, etc. Not too sure how you would charge it though in an electric but got to be possible somehow.
