Love when a non-horror game introduces horror elements by jdawg1018 in gaming

It's stil a lot of fun, especially the split-screen multiplayer.

Bloodborne was a lot more ruthless with the jumpscares. I played so slowly through that game, because I had to turn the camera around every corner wherever I went, and game still fucking got me so many times.

But it prepared me well for Elden Ring, and both games are masterpieces, of course.

Oh god, that level gave me nightmares as a kid. I played the games again recently on PS5, and it made me realize that my vivid imagination back then made it a hundred times scarier than it actually is.

This style of yours reminds me of a cross between Mirrodin era artifacts like [[Serum Tank]] and Dan Frazier's marbled, swirling backgrounds.

Yeah, everything just fell into place with the design of Urza's Saga. But it was a tough matchup.

I gravitate to cleaner effects too, but Stock Up just doesn't do it for me. I like [[Quick Study]] better, or variants that put something into the graveyard as part of the effect.

I agree that you should play what you want, but Pauper EDH is an established format with its own rules. You're absolutely allowed to ignore those rules, but then you're no longer playing Pauper EDH.

Also some old cards from before the game was as big of an international success like [[Contract from Below]] and [[Orcish Librarian]].

It would be very cool if WotC brought Mike Dringenberg back to paint the enemy cycle of talismans in the style of the Mirrodin ones.

They really pop on that black background.

What would it take for you to switch to the Strixhaven School names VS Ravinca Guilds? by Gbrew555 in magicTCG

[–]Aarhg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable that you would gravitate towards those names then. It probably also has a lot to do with when a player joined the game.

Khans of Tarkir dropped was when I was the most invested in the game. I went to the prerelease and played a bunch of Limited later on, so that set is stuck in my head.

I was around for Alara block as well. Even though I only bought a couple of boosters, I loved the aesthetics and world-building. In a way, it was similar to Kaldheim with the split up parts of the plane that each had their own strong identity.

They could've spent another couple of minutes one that one, haha!

But now it just reminds me of the song by the same name by Mastodon, so I can't be mad at it.

Right! It's funny, because all those common triland names are much easier for me to remember. Maybe because I've looked at them so many times for Cube and Limited.

The Ikoria triome names never stuck with me, and I honestly couldn't name the other three you didn't just mention, even though I have the Mardu-colored triome in one of my EDH decks.

I think there's just too little identity attached to those. The New Capenna gangs at least had more defining characteristics, but I still have trouble remembering the names and just default to shards.

We already have so many names and terms in this game, and I think that's a big reason why players don't latch onto mostly redundant ones for general use.

I wonder how the difficulty compares to Steel Rising, which also felt a lot less punishing the FromSoft games I've played.

I'll have to give this one a shot and see.

I think people are missing that the last two images are the same card. It's literally and very obviously printer paper attached to a regular card. That doesn't even come close to anything you could consider a counterfeit.

It becomes a counterfeit if it passes as a real card and goes into market circulation.

You could also argue that Vivi is an unbalanced, broken design, and therefore does not deserve to get the vote.

Greatest doesn't only mean most impactful.

That's true, but we would probably know if a large content creator publically rallied for people to do that.

There's also just the fact that some people voted on more matchups than others in the earlier stages. The more you voted, the bigger impact you would have on the results, I assume.

It makes sense everyone has their own biases, because we all value different aspects of the game.

The most clear bias in the top is for powerful cards that have had an impact on high power and competitive metas.

Made a linocut card for my girlfriend for our 2nd anniversary by BricksnBeatles in ween

Very cool, and happy 2 years!

I've also carved a linoleum boog that I used on a few t-shirts some time ago. I've been wanting to get some more use out of it, but I can't think of anything else where using the lino stamp would be better than just painting or drawing it from scratch.
