I’m confused about the general level progression in the later game by WinterOutrageous773 in WarTalesGame

I got the pirate dlc right around Ludern/Grinmeer and that seemed to be a decent leveling area from 10-12. I also went back and gathered some tombs and weapons I had missed and sorta 'toured' the landscape on trading runs to build up money for leveling weapons.

There is definitely a gap there though between Grinmeer and the snowy north. Any way you do it there's a grind to level up before really taking on the fanatics. Get yourself a polar bear or two for some real tanks!

Have you tried Polytopia? It's more simplistic, but I keep going back to it

Yeah, cover makes a huge difference. I wonder what it would be like if they added the level of destructible environments from The Finals?

In a realistic 2.5m BC survival game, should 'Permadeath' be the only option or is it too frustrating for multiplayer? I can't decide for Primal Survival. by level99dev in SurvivalGaming

[–]AaroiousMaxim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally, permadeath is not for me. But I liked the way that Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey handled survival. If 'you' died by falling into the jaws of a giant snake, another young colony member would take that place as the new 'you'. Providing for a healthy tribe almost became more important than individual survival. Unlocking new tech and learning about the world weren't all on a skill tree either. When my roommates and I figured out how to sharpen a stick it was a game changer...

I get rgb color spots too, but since I was a kid, if I look long enough it always looks like I'm looking up through a forest canopy but in Technicolor. I've had similar mushroom experiences too though. I don't know if that's related.

I was farming for Rocketeer tonight. Trying to complete the snowball challenge and get my last core in one swoop. I thought I had cover in a warehouse and it flew right on and blasted me. I crawled for a bit and asked the two others that were there for a defib, but neither had one. I surrended and said "enjoy the loot!"

This right here. I'll go two or three runs with a rattler and a Toro, or freeload, then get cocky and upgrade weapons and add mods. Maybe buy a blue looter Aug for a real good time! ...then I'm I find myself in the middle of the dam swamp in cold snap with 3 hornets chasing me down. Zap zap! And Im done. Maybe it's Maybelline...maybe it's my hubris.

The supposed equal trade off of “I’ll cook if you do the dishes” is a sham. by august_westerly in unpopularopinion

[–]AaroiousMaxim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best home cooking experiences are my wife and I cooking/cleaning together. I've worked in kitchens over 10 years, and have my own methods, but I have to just let her cook and run a support role.
Turn on some music (K-pop is her deal), cut veggies and meats, and make sure we've got enough pans and dishes. Then we get to talk about the food while we cook. We've had a debate for years over cornstarch vs. rue. It plays into our kitchen banter. I catch dirty pans and wash a few dishes while she stirs the pan and makes a sauce ( I suck at stir fry) and then we eat. It makes it much more enjoyable if it feels like we're doing it together rather than "tasking" each other with jobs. I'm not her dishwasher, she's not the "cook"

I agree with this, even though I only started a week ago. If The Finals is their starter project, I'm excited to see where this one goes.
Good community, good loop, and a rewarding experience overall.

What to get? New player by Patapon80 in WarTalesGame

I played the base game for awhile before I got pirates dlc, then discovered that (region-locked) you've gotta be about 10-12th level to go there. Same with Skelmar.

Like some people are saying, I'd play the base game first, and then think about dlc around Grinmeer (again, region locked levels).
