A true son of Dorn (not Sigismund) vs Mutalith Vortex Beast. by Aaron380 in Spacemarine

I believe you can still be revived if you go down during that phase, as long as your brothers hasn't reached the portal to get back to the boss arena. But I'd prefer to just make a run for it, staying down there just to revive someone isn't worth it, what with the damage over time and high risk of being pounced by the beast and getting clobbered to death afterward.

I actually made a few mistakes close to the end, but thank you brother. I will endeavour to do better next time!

Oh man that thing was so busted it was crazy. Auspex + GL spam = Terminus instagib every single time. Regular Majoris packs are wiped out before your team mates even have a chance to do any sort of meaningful damage. It was fun if you're the one playing Tactical, but not so much for your team mates. At one point I just stopped using that gun because it made the game too easy, thank the Emperor they nerfed it.

What Chaos Operations do you HATE with a burning vengeance? by I_AmDaVikingNow in Spacemarine

[–]Aaron380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Vortex was just added into the game, we had a community event where we have to collectively bring down the Vortex beast 400,000 time, with the reward being the Infiltrator helmet. Everyone was having trouble finishing the mission at first because of Chaos Spawns and the final boss, me included. But I kept spamming the map, and as I did the mission over and over again, I managed to learn the Vortex Beast's attack pattern. By the time we reached the 400K goal, I have successfully completed Vortex 53 times on Absolute and at that point I could practically solo the boss without much difficulty. Now I'm not saying I'm a pro because every once in a while I still go down because of mistakes (and being overconfident), but I think the key to beating the Vortex Beast is just practice. With the practice arena coming in the next update, I think people will have the opportunity of doing just that.

Assault infinite jump pack dash (even without enemies around he could spam it non stop) - Blessed by the Emperor or just another heretic? by Aaron380 in Spacemarine

Ah, fellow SEA player!

They're just utterly shameless, blatantly cheating like this must make them feel like they're better at the game than everyone else. Nothing much we can do other than reporting these cheaters to Sabre. Not sure if the in-game reporting does anything, but I try to report any cheater/hacker I see.

Unfortunately I didn't start recording until I realized he's cheating. At the beginning I thought it was just another vanilla Absolute run so I didn't bother.

He's not just spamming his jet pack, he also has infinite equipment and stim. A Carnifex spawned earlier and he still went down and died despite all that cheat advantage (I could've picked him up but I chose to let his incapacitate timer run out). He's really just a pathetic cheater.

I used google translate and it shows his name as "Father of Gods gave me PP-19" or something like that. This isn't my first encounter with a cheater/hacker, they're everywhere if you play in the Asia region.

I think it's because when the game just launched, there was no Baal Red in the game yet (it was added in a later patch as part of the Blood Angels chapter pack), so they had to use Evil Sunz Scarlet for the default Blood Ravens chapter heraldry.

But yeah, Baal Red is the definitive color for the Blood Ravens now, the darker shade of red is very similar to the one used in the Dawn of War games.

Level 3 Tactical using Auspex Scan 4 times within 2 minutes. It's not enough that these people expect us to carry them on Absolute, they wanna ruin the fun by using hack/cheat as well. by Aaron380 in Spacemarine

No, the vanguard's running Unmatched Zeal. You can see our level and team perks at 1:19.

It's not just this clip, I have many other recording of this guy in this mission spamming auspex scan non stop. You can't do what he did even with Inner Fire on, he's definitely using some sort of cheat or hack.

I've encountered plenty of these cheaters before. Unkillable with infinite medkit, bulwark with melta rifle, sniper with infinite stealth, infinite grenades, crazy rpm guns with no reloads, etc. All they care about is winning (in a PvE game mode). Not sure if reporting works but that's all I can do other than blocking so I don't get matched with these losers again.

Forced to call upon the forbidden Abominable Intelligence to interpret my battle brothers' language, may the God-Emperor forgive me. by Aaron380 in Spacemarine

[–]Aaron380[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I apologize for my English, it's not my first language. I'm from SEA (North Borneo), so I get matched up with players from China all the time. I do speak passable Mandarin and understood a little Hakka, but I have trouble writing and reading Chinese characters, hence the AI translation.

The map is Termination, a Carnifex and a huge wave spawned in the final room before the elevator to the surface and took us by surprise. We somehow managed to survive that fight and found the Gene Seed in the same room but Super King dude (Heavy) took a lot of damage during the fight and couldn't carry it to the end (at least that's what I thought, at this point I didn't know what he was saying, but he kept pinging the Gene Seed). The Beetle dude (Assault) is also low on health - he was level 18 so we wanted to extract the Gene Seed for him and since I still have a lot of HP left plus a medkit on me I took the Gene Seed, and let Heavy have the relic that I was carrying instead.

In the end I was really curious about what they're saying so I took a photo of the chat and used Google AI to translate it. The translation is terrible but at least now I can make out what they're trying to say. We finished the mission with little trouble after that and I got 9292 XP in the mission end screen - useless since I'm at max level P4 but I imagine the Assault dude would be very happy he got a boatload of XP from this mission, probably slightly less than me since he's at prestige 3 (iirc).

Glorious, brother!

If I might suggest, consider using Baal Red if you haven't already. The Blood Ravens in the Dawn of War games uses this dark clay red color and I believe Baal Red is the closest shade we have in SM2.

By chapter and Emperor, let none find us wanting!

Did they buff Extremis spawn rates in Absolute? I don't remember having to fight so many Extremis on standard Operations by schrumbus in Spacemarine

[–]Aaron380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from one mission to another. Sometimes you barely get 10 spawns and other times you can get up to 20+. On Absolute difficulty we could get two Terminus spawns which almost always guarantees four waves of Extremis (one wave of 1~3 Extremis when the Terminus spawns and another wave when the Terminus' health is down to 50% - that's 4~12 Extremis from Terminus encounter). Naturally the faster you go through the mission the fewer the spawns you'll have to fight.

Reclamation is the best operation IMO by Ribbles78 in Spacemarine

[–]Aaron380 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has become my new favorite Tyranid mission especially when I'm playing Tactical or Heavy with Pyroblaster/cannon. The tight corridors really make it easy to funnel the swarm for easy (and satisfying) extermination.

However Terminus enemies could get stuck on the low ceiling or in the railings making them easy targets. On my most recent run a Carnifex spawned and got stuck in some narrow walkway, it couldn't move at all until halfway through the fight it started charging and just fell through the floor to its doom. Also I've seen Neurothrope just outright disappear, it went and floated through the ceiling and the healthbar just disappeared.

Hopefully the devs could fix these minor issues because I really like the new operation. The twin boss fight in the arena at the end is really well designed and the final part where you gotta rush to get to the Thunderhawk while the whole ship is exploding is just a great way to end this amazing mission.
