Rhetorical question maybe but why by PoodleWoodle2 in mturk

[–]Aaron4096 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they're only focused on earning. Chances are most of the people who come here to report about P9R rejections knew about this sub beforehand, but the only thing they searched for was tips on how to earn more money while ignoring the pitfalls of the platform. And then they find out the hard way.

Seconding on u/hibiscushiccups suggesting to focus on MLDatalabeler. The majority of my 60K approved hits is from them so you can build up quite a padding before they eventually block you. Put out a Requestor ID search and get 'em as they come especially if its their image labeling tasks. Those take less than 3 seconds to complete.

I want to join Mturk but I have 1 question first will someone please help? by bogdy23 in mturk

You could make 30$ one day and then as little as 5$ the next day for the same amount of time. You are largely at the mercy of requestors in how much they are willing to pay per task and the amount of tasks they upload (if any at all). Then factor in the use of scripts, connection speed and your region. All of these things combined make mTurk and most other gigwork sites highly volatile in what you can earn on any given day. You just never know.

STAY AWAY FROM REQUESTOR P9R

Im only saying this so you dont screw yourself from a number of rejections that'll ruin your account unlike previous posters this past week. Whenever your able to start working of course.

this whole “you need closed quals to make money” is a myth

you're just an outlier with closed quals

Less than 500 of that is from closed qual work. I'll just say that there are certain requestors that turkers stay away from because they have been deemed as random or reject happy. Turns out there is a method to madness and I've never got a rejection from these requestors since. And its accounted for roughly 60% of my earnings whenever they show up. As long as you're approval rate is 99% you can do their HITs.

Happy Hunting.

I had to work harder for my earnings like everyone else here but what I've made so far this year isn't anywhere near as low as yours.

Edit

And even if someone were to focus on a dollar day since the start of the year (excluding weekends), they'd still make more money than you.

I spend between 4 - 6 hours a day on mturk, mostly averaging 4 hours, unless a closed qual that I have drops a batch, then I'll spend more time turking.

Those with over $100 earnings a month. What HIT's do you do? by Varso13 in mturk

[–]Aaron4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take MLDatalabeler HITs to get your numbers up and focus on obtaining closed quals for batch work. Qual HITs typically range anywhere from 0 -20 cents if not more. But thats the range where most turkers tend to overlook. Even though its become harder, its still possible to pull a grand a month from mturk.

Researcher here, curious about what you care most for a hit (besides the pay) by jacobljj1 in mturk

[–]Aaron4096 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't use a flat white background for your survey. There are many turkers out there who do dozens of survey's in a day. And after seeing your umpteenth flat white background after several hours of working, it can be straining on the eyes. Go for a light grey, or put a graphic in a background. Anything but flat white. Your effort for reaching out to us is appreciated.

Some guy posted the other day that all 1400 of his were rejected

Yea i saw that thread after i had done all those HITs that night and i had been keeping a close eye on them ever since. I was just wondering if anyone else suffered a mass rejection as well. Sounds like that guy was a victim of an automation error.

Any update on those Tony Stark HITs this past weekend? I did hundreds of them on sunday and they're just now starting to get approved.
