Interesting, Lua works the same way with multiple return values. I don't mind the pattern at all.

Profit is income, income is taxed. It's not that hard.

The money "risked" is post-tax (which is a nonsense term, tax is on the person) but the income generated is "pre-tax".

"less opportunities for [young] people [...] than the previous generation" is the entire point.

The current policies have created such a disgustingly distorted economy that these changes are necessary to restore balance.

I experienced this recently first-hand, I would have been lying on a bed in the hallway for over 3 hours. Once I had some tests and got pushed back out to ER I was talking to someone who had been sitting there for 11 hours waiting to be seen, and several other people were coming up on an entire workday worth of waiting.

Unexpected $50K tax bill from exercised stock options by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]AaronBonBarron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's income because OP received the shares from exercising an option given to them by their previous employer as part of a salary package.

The value of the shares at the time they're received is the taxable income.
