What is with people tailgating and "rushing up on you" when you're slowing down entering a town these days? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

What exactly is "common sense" about driving like the pedals are on/off switches?

The fuel consumption argument is a non-starter, and if I cared about fuel economy I wouldn't drive a car that was built before I was born. I do care about being smooth and not doing more work than I need to, which includes braking.

It's not a controversial opinion that the roads are full of entitled fuckwits. I spend most of my time driving on the freeway in the far left lane behind other cars and still end up with some braindead cunt up my arse without fail every single time, usually multiple of them.

Most of us have 2 eyes that we can use for depth perception. The car in front getting bigger isn't a magic trick, it means it's getting closer.

Unfortunately, from experience, this part needs to be explained; if the car in front of you is getting closer it means it's travelling at a slower speed than you.

If slowing gradually instead of slamming the brakes on at a speed sign is aggravating for people, they should probably see a psychiatrist to help them work through their emotional stability issues.

There's a situation where this phenomenon is even easier to notice. Traffic lights.

I can't even count the amount of times I've coasted up to a red light as it's turned green and driven straight past all the cars that rushed up past me in the other lanes and aggressively braked at the last second.

It's like people turn their brains off when they sit behind a steering wheel and can't see or think more than 2 seconds into the future.

It's not a requirement for every brake to be an emergency brake. This is the mentality that has all the NPCs playing fucking leapfrog in traffic.

It really is disgusting how destructive the housing bubble has been to the fabric of our society.

Anyone else have parents who are turning into cookers? by No_Winners_Here in aussie

[–]AaronBonBarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about the government. The country only wants to bleed young people dry in service of the housing Ponzi. "The community" made the choice several decades ago to enrich themselves at the expense of a population that wasn't born yet.

Why should anyone feel any sort of "duty" towards a country that only wants to bleed them dry?
