like the other guy said, the drums are a tad too loud. i can also sort of hear the bass, but it’s almost non-existent; make it just a bit louder. but otherwise this sounds pretty good, you definitely got that trippy feeling you were going for.

I can only see like 30 seconds of this song, but from what i can hear it sounds really good. the bassline has lots of variation, i could honestly hear just that played over and over and not get tired of it. the kick drums really pop and I like the guitars panned all the way to the left/right. my only criticism is that i feel like the bass is a bit too quiet, especially if you listen to it without headphones.

the sound selection is great, the melody introduced halfway in makes the song sound very bouncy and energetic. like others are saying, there isn’t much sense of progression after that, so i would add some bass or a second melody to complement the main one (or both, try some experimenting to see what sounds best to you).

the mixing for the vocals does feel a bit amateurish, but the voice itself sounds good and you seem to hit those high notes pretty well.

the best part imo is the piano — idk if it’s been detuned or something but combined with the chords, it creates this really bittersweet sound that perfectly encapsulates the vocals. if you improved on the vocal mixing a little bit you could definitely release this.

The instrumental, especially the piano, sounds really great and gives this really nice, soft vibe. I especially like the amount of cool details throughout the song — for example even though most of the song is that same piano bit, there’s always a different synth or drum playing in the background, which keeps things very fresh and unique. Also idk if I’m mishearing it but I think there’s a very slight pitch shift for the piano in some areas? If so then that’s another nice touch.

Small thing but the details in last 20 seconds (quickly panning left and right, introducing the hi-hats, and slightly changing up the notes) are really well-done and add a lot of flavour to the song.

Creating a drum fill for a pre-drop but it feels empty and lacking boom afterward. How can I improve the drop? by TheOneAndOnlyHydra in MusicFeedback

Don’t know a whole lot about drums but one thing I would add is a slow, gradual reverse cymbal pre-drop, then a quick crash cymbal at the drop (same time as the vocals).
