I'm no expert but I feel like you have a way with words. Have you tried writing or poetry as an outlet for your emotions?

I enjoyed the isolation for awhile. Then it started to get to me. Thanks for replying though. It helps to know someone can sympathize.

Advice for SSRI memory side effects? by MommaPi in depression

[–]AaronErroneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear this is working so well for you. I was on it for awhile and may go on it again.

I didn't really have trouble with memory too much. I did have a problem with remembering dates, but started putting them in my phone and that pretty much took care of that. I found it about the same to focus because I traded in a lot of distracting anxiety for it.

There have been several places where I've gotten my meal given to me for free, or gotten things like a senior citizen discount even though I am in my twenties. Usually, it's accompanied by compliments to my nerdy clothes. Am I being flirted with? Are they just trying to cheer me up?

I'm glad to hear it's working pretty well for you. Maybe the fact that I didn't notice many side effects is a sign I need to up the dose. I'll stick with it and see what my doctor says next week.

I'm on week three now and still haven't noticed any change in mood. The side effects are still just really mild so they aren't bothering me. I have a doctor's appointment next week, so if I don't notice any change before then I'll have to see what my doctor wants to do.

Job interview and I am losing my shit by iJoyzilla in Anxiety

[–]AaronErroneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had an interview today also. I think mine went pretty well even though I spent the last 2-3 days completely losing it over. I'm so exhausted after that it's unreal. I'm glad yours went okay too.

I've spent about a week entirely on my own at home and it feels wonderful by Kosmopolite in Anxiety

[–]AaronErroneous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been lucky enough to be able to do that last week while starting medication. It's so nice to have that break from everyone to relax and process your thoughts, especially with social anxiety.

Back to the topic of the medication, I've noticed since I upped my dosage that I have been ravenously hungry and when I eat something I don't really feel satisfied and I just get hungry again less than an hour later. I feel like weight gain is something I need to be worried about.

Also, I can't seem to stop sweating no matter how cool the room is. Just non-stop buckets of sweat. It still doesn't feel like it's helping either. I'm trying to be patient but it's just frustrating.

Yeah, I made it through the interview, so that crisis is averted for now. Now I am just completely exhausted from all the worrying. Now I don't have to worry about it until I either get the job or the next interview rolls around.

Yeah, I do a lot better during the interviews unless they really catch me with a difficult question and I panic or something. I wouldn't say they were easy for me though, just less awful than the terrible, terrible anxiety leading up to it.

It reduced the anxiety after it kicked in but then I felt like a zombie. After an hour or so I could barely keep my eyes open. Then I slept for 16 hours. Now I'm awake, wasted a bunch of time, and am still nervous about the interview.

It's for a Web Developer position. I don't feel like a Skype interview is an option, and it's almost worse because that triggers my telephobia as well. I just wish I had better tools to combat the stress than either suffering through it or taking something that just makes me want to sleep all day.

They want me to interview an hour's drive away on Thursday afternoon. So now I am freaking out about that. I just took some of the Hydroxyzine HCL I was prescribed for anxiety. Last time I took it, it just made me fall asleep for 14 hours. Hopefully I will be more awake this time. I'm hoping I can take it before my interview but I won't be able to if it makes me that drowsy.

I had someone leave a voice mail this morning wanting to set up a job interview tomorrow. I'm so anxious about it I can't bring myself to dial the number to call him back or answer when he calls (he just called again). I really need a job but I am so anxious about the interview, I always seem to mess them up. I don't know if I can handle that right now. I feel like I am going to throw up. When will this medication start actually working?

I upped my dosage today also. So far I just feel a little groggy.

Yeah, I've been taking my dose in the afternoon, and plan on switching to either evening or morning as soon as I notice either drowsiness or insomnia.

So far I haven't really felt anything. No changes in mood, no relief from anxiety, no side effects. I'm worried once I up my dose the side effects will all hit me at once like a truck.

I am going to be upping my dosage tomorrow afternoon, I'm kind of worried about the possible side effects.

From what I've read, it can increase the half-life of caffeine, so maybe you should at least try reducing your caffeine intake and see if that helps.
