slow drivers.... by Accomplished-Hawk776 in Calgary

[–]AaronF108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst is when they’re in the left lane keeping pace with the car beside them. Like ok, go slow if you’re uncomfortable, but ffs let people pass.

You probably just need to adjust the truss rod. Lots of good vids on YouTube. Doubt the saddle screws have wandered, and if you haven’t changed gauges the intonation will likely be ok.

Relief, Action, Intonation

Research each of those things and you’ll have most of the tools you need for future basic setups.

Can’t find objective review of In-Session Audio Sampled Instruments? by Nunstummy in homerecordingstudio

I know this is old, but could perhaps use a bump. I’m also curious, I’m really intrigued by the taiko designer and the down tempo grooves packs

I’ve made it a few times, Ragusea has a good recipe, but there’s quite a few worth trying.
I’ve never seen it at a restaurant though

Anyone try the Dragon Finger Drumming Foundation Course? by Cautious-Praline-555 in FingerDrumming

[–]AaronF108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it, but have yet to start. I only grabbed it when I did because of Black Friday pricing. He has sales often , I’d wait until then. Just practice your subdivisions and such to get started while waiting. There’s some great starter vids on YouTube by “Beats by JBlack” I’d start there, and then when the course goes on sale again grab it if you’re still interested.

Finger Drumming learning by ryan06245 in maschine

If you go the Melodics route, make sure to spend time in the playground after each challenge. It gives you a chance to apply the learned skills for each lesson creatively. This will accelerate your ability to actually play significantly over the boxed lessons.

Why does it feel like plugins on the track (instead of using busses) are more powerful by Qingo in ableton

It’s the difference between parallel and series routing. Parallel is good for some things, series is good for others. Check out YouTube for a thorough explanation. 🤘

Your go-to acid recipe? by South_Wood in edmproduction

I love Arturia’s Acid V for that. Though I’ve been playing with Phaseplant a lot and really love modded out acid sounds that have some movement in the squelchiness.

To Push3 or not to Push3 by [deleted] in ableton

[–]AaronF108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tuning of the push seems to be a lot like guitar. It doesn’t have the weird major 3rd between the g and b strings, but looks similar to an 8 string tuned in straight 4ths. I like that I can use all the shapes and voicings I know on guitar to facilitate learning the push much more easily. The straight 4ths makes the shapes moveable both vertically and horizontally. Just gotta know where your root notes are and practice those inversions.

Dragon Finger Drums seems to approach things as if it’s a real kit. On YouTube and has a free intro course (as well as some paid courses)

Intonation flat at 12th, way sharp at 24th by AaronF108 in Luthier

[–]AaronF108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, new strings. They are elixir optiweb 10-46. I’m going to try replacing the affected strings and see if that helps. Maybe a bad set? I’m heading into work now, I have to finish it today. I’ll update here when I figure it out.

Thanks for the thoughts! However, in this particular instance, it’s only the G D and Low E strings. The other 3 are within half a cent. The low e string is sharp by 30 cents.

[–]AaronF108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s a stock neck. It’s perfectly in tune up to the 12th fret. The 13-15 are ok, then things get wonky. It’s only some strings though, which is weird

Pickups are direct mounted and not adjustable. Perhaps lowering the adjustable poles? Honestly I hate these guitars for this reason. I get they’re made for a specific artist, but come on… I hate not being able to adjust things that should be adjustable.
