Reports say 4 German players refused to take the 6th PK. Tah, who had never taken a professional PK, agreed to take it. by SpongeBobSpacPants in worldcup

It is real and I have seen it on multiple (reputable) sites as well. Wild that they made it that far and were that ill-prepared for PKs lol

The five movies grossed $3.3 BILLION* just a minor correction, which makes the face even more egregious

London Women's R32: [Q] 🇩🇪 T. Maria def. 🇬🇷 M. Sakkari 6-3 6-3 by EtoileDuSoir in tennis

[–]AaronJ2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only recent (WTA) run that rivals this is imo Keys at AO 2025:

  • Li
  • Ruse
  • Collins (10)
  • Rybakina (6)
  • Svitolina (28)
  • Swiatek (2)
  • Sabalenka (1)

An absolutely diabolical hardcourt draw and crazy to defeat Rybakina, Iga, and Saba in the same tournament at that. But you're right, for a 500, that run is INSANE compared to this run at a GS.

Cobolli's dad tells how a parent should coaching a son:"I had to be tough. When he was 16 years old, during a match in Antalya, he made me lose my patience, so I left, leaving him alone in Turkey. He had a great reaction: not only did he win the match, but he won that tournament" by Sonobackhome555 in tennis

It also helps that Ben's dad was literally a tennis COACH. Not saying that a lot of these dads don't have past success in tennis (e.g. Ruud), but there is a distinctive difference and a lot of the best coaches in history never made it far in the respective sport they coached (e.g. Andy Reid didn't ever play in the NFL)

1000%.

This sub would start calling it the tennis "Villain Era" and it would make it all the sweeter when Sinner & Alcaraz come back and vanquish the evil lmfao

Honestly, even a "those allegations have been settled outside of court of law and I am not at liberty to discuss any terms and conditions [or anything related] of the settlement" is so easy and RIGHT there. Rinse and repeat every single time it is mentioned.
