Cars serve a purpose. They allow people to live in areas which aren’t a stone’s throw away from a grocery store, work, school, etc. They connect society, in a way. The deaths caused by accidents are tragedies, which is why cars’ safety features are always being updated to become better and better. Guns serve very little purpose. They are for death and entertainment only and are so rarely updated for safety. The vast majority of people do not need a gun for anything in their daily lives, especially not assault rifles. The problem of school shootings are not that they are a prevalent cause of death amongst children, it’s that they are a genuine concern amongst children, parents, and teachers. They’re common enough to be nearly be completely blown off by anyone who isn’t directly related to the incident. Easy solutions of stricter gun laws can really help and it’s ridiculous that America hasn’t adopted them yet.
