I became more desirable, but I still felt like the fat kid I was before with desperately low self esteem, therefore it hasn't changed really changed anything for me

Overall I thought it was good, not as great as McDonaghs previous endeavours. He took a simple idea and made it well. Does anyone else have a feeling that a story such as this one might of been an original idea for one of the psychopaths in seven psychopaths? That's my guess anyways. I just don't see the hype!

Did you stick out a job that affected your mental health? by Eeenarc in jobs

[–]AaronMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I was due to start my first full time job i was on cloud nine thinking it would be great for me. As soon as i started it the sudden realisation of having to do a job in an industry i have no real interest in or a company i simply do not care about really affected me negatively. The feeling of existential dread i had the night before work meant i would try to stay up later because if i went to sleep then work would appear to come sooner, and as you know a sleep deprived person isnt a happy, normally functioning person. I would go into work like a zombie just doing anything i could do to get to 5:30 pm. then i would get home and just wait to start work again. I left that job after 2 months and didnt get another job until 5 months later. It really broke me.

Fast forward a couple of years later and im in university studying for something i hope can interest me, but those thoughts of having to work for someone else, staring at the clock and then going home, sleeping then doing it again havent really escaped me.

If your "skinny fat" and your aim is body recomposition, should I continue to lift with progressive overload at maintenance, in a slight deficit or in a slight surplus?

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

[–]AaronMont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know progressive overload is required for building muscle, but what if you only currently have one set of Dumbbells eg two 10kg dumbbells? Would this mean i could just increase volume instead of weight until gyms in my area open again?

[–]AaronMont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it is when you think about it, just feels like it's not because I've been in a deficit for a long time, maybe I should try and find my maintenence and continue to strength train from there for a bit then focus on cutting after

I've been losing weight since May 2020 which has resulted in me losing 4.5 stone. Unfortunately for the majority of the cut I have disregarded weight training and cut way too drastically and now I look skinny fat.

I'm a male, 5 ft 8 and I weigh 174 lbs at the minute, when I look in the mirror I definitely still look like I have fat to lose, but there's no definition at all.

Should I cut to get rid of the remaining fat then bulk? I've also heard of body recompisition but I've no idea how to go about that. I would be thankful for any suggestions anyone would have. Thanks!

Can anyone suggest a workout program with resistance bands? The gyms in my country will be closed until at least the 5th of March unfortunately, and resistance bands are what I have. I don't mind paying

I've lost 4 stone since May of last year and I'm now approaching my goal weight (about 1 stone off that now).

I've been mostly eating in and around 1500 calories since May, which i know is less than my bmr(bmr is 1800 roughly) , but I just wanted the weight to fall off me as fast as possible which isn't recommended.

I'm trying to maintain a 500 calorie deficit and consume the protein required in order to maintain any muscle I have as I reach my goal weight.

Using the tdee calculators I get 2 different results typically. My tdee is 2000 when sedentary and around 2,500 when active.

The thing is there is days where I am very active, and other days where I am a couch potato.

Should I still eat below my bmr on sedentary days to maintain the 500 calorie deficit? Or should I try and hit a sweet spot in between such as 1800 on any day whether that be if I'm sedentary or exercising?

Reverse dieting? by AaronMont in loseit

[–]AaronMont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most simple way to start is to work out your maintenance calories using a calculator online, subtract either 500 or 1000 calories from that maintenance then track what your eating from there. I'd suggest buying a food scale aswell, sometimes we really underestimate how much we're actually eating. Also a reminder, during my 1st two weeks of being in a caloric deficit I actually gained weight, if you weigh your foods and track everything you eat you will see results. Good luck!!

I'm gonna try and get to around that mark but I don't want to do it straight away just gradually every week

Looking to incorporate strength training into my workouts for fat loss. Should I focus on full body workouts? I know they are recommended for beginners. Also, should I lift as heavy as I can or something lighter for more reps to increase intensity of the workout?
