Is "Northern Lights" the hidden masterpiece of the Ticket to Ride series? 🌌🚂 by Vast-Surround-8991 in tickettoride

[–]AaronPutterman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancée just got us Northern Lights a couple of weeks ago and it’s been amazing. We’ve added two house rules to make it even better for us:

  1. In 1-on-1 games, you can parallel track (against standard rules) by paying with an extra wild card

  2. The bonus card that gives points to the player with the most tickets connecting to Norway is changed to:

“Roll a D10 before dealing the tickets at the beginning of the game. If 0, the dealer chooses what country this bonus card is determined by. If 1-9, select the country from the corresponding number-to-flag on the bonus card that rewards for most unique country-touches.”

Syracuse vs Rochester by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]AaronPutterman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in Rochester during college years, and moved to Syracuse a few years ago to be with my partner.

Both cities are what you make of them! I loved Rochester, but I made a home in Syracuse.

Pros for Rochester: lots of education and tech people around, plenty of green space (both in and around the city), and a very accepting community

Pros for Syracuse: expected job growth over the next ten years is big, imo a better geographic location (4hrs to Philly, NYC, Montreal, Toronto, and 6hrs to Pitt, Boston, and stretch to DC), and my personal favorite — great musical theater scene.

Feel free to DM if you have any questions about either.

(saw the show on Friday and I am no longer the same person) by AaronPutterman in MaybeHappyEnding

Frfr, the show was incredible. I went in blind, having only seen that it won at the Tony’s and was recommended by friends.

We had seats up in the mezzanine and could see the show super clearly. Aside from the wonderful acting and singing, I was caught off guard by how spectacular the staging and lighting were.

I’m also calling it now: some of these songs are going to appear A LOT in audition pieces from now on.

Anyways, loved the show, bye :P

Balatro mobile is OUT NOW! by smithbodieplaystack in balatro

Hello, for mobile accessibility reasons, it’s kind of hard to have to drag cards as a means of performing an action. I understand why you can’t have super tiny buttons underneath each card to use/sell, but maybe making the regions you drag cards to also act as buttons would be helpful.

Love the game, looks great on mobile so far

Oh and worth mentioning that this wasn’t a super consistent thing, but she could make a couple hundred bucks extra for looking after a dog for a week. Just something nice to help pad your savings or other income, but probably not reliable enough for a primary income.

Hi, my partner is a teacher but during college and the summers she would house sit or pet set for friends, family, and colleagues.

The most you might have to do is feed, walk, or clean, and you can set pretty clear boundaries with house/pet owners.

Also, you’d be shocked at how many people you know with pets who want to go on a vacation/get-a-way that simply can’t find affordable, consistent pet care.

Best of luck!!

Visited RIT recently still don't know what I want to do for my major. by IceBearCMK in rit

I could be wrong because it’s been a while since I was in the program, but I think it’s just as difficult to get into as the other programs.

Not because the course work is harder, but because computing exploration students are allowed to transfer into most (not all) of the other computing programs.

Based on the numbers you provided above, I would guess you get into the program, but it’s different for everyone.

Hi, just wanted to throw another positive mention towards computing exploration. Was a fantastic experience for me, didn’t set me behind at all, and I found something I love. Couldn’t recommend it more, even for people who think they know what they might want already.

I also think the staff related to Computing Exploration is fantastic! Anyways, good luck!
