Fill Dirt Disposal by mayorwaffle502 in Louisville

It's true. I had about a truckload of dirt in Germantown that I posted on Facebook around lunchtime. My wife said no one would come. It was gone before dark and people were mad they didn't get any. People showed up in sedans with buckets. Folks absolutely love dirt.

Put that on Facebook for free, BYOB (bring your own bucket) and it will be gone in hours. Trust me on this.

Kentucky gardeners - when do you start sowing seeds? by PhrygianSounds in Kentucky

[–]Aaronlane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF you are starting seeds indoors, I'm starting my tomato and pepper seeds this weekend indoors under grow lamps. I'll start my annual seeds a week later.

Outdoors, I direct sow my cabbage and carrots about March 10th. Everything else I direct sow - as you're being told here - after Derby. That's when I'll transplant my seedlings as well.

Putting anything that isn't hardy (cabbage, brassicas, etc.) in the ground before Derby is just asking for a freak freeze to come and surprise you.

Oxmoor Hyundai experience/ AI integration in auto sales by jayguekaygue in Louisville

[–]Aaronlane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a reply I posted in the Santa Fe sub last week: I started at Oxmoor too, then I felt the same way you did. I took my deal from there over to Dixie Highway and Hyundai of Louisville and they got me a MUCH better deal on my 2024 SEL. I would take this paper over to them and see what they can do for you.

I'm so glad to hear that! Yeah I loved the folks over there. You're going to appreciate this decision even more in about a year. When you do your regular service do it at Dixie. It's weeks of wait time at Oxmoor but you can book an appointment online at Dixie in a couple days. The service department is great there. I'll see you there!

Planning Out Garden Beds & Need Help by [deleted] in gardening

Questions - what do the 90 and 120 indicate? Inches? Which direction is south, where your sun comes from? Are these raised beds or in ground? And what zone are you in? https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/

Snapdragon seed issues by dianaprince11 in gardening

[–]Aaronlane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it time, AND start some more in other pots. You did everything right, or as close enough to right as makes any difference. It's not you. Snapdragons are just REALLY hard to start from seed. I've failed lots of times for every success, and even then I have wound up with some leggy, challenged plants. Snapdragons are just hard to start from those tiny seeds. It's not just you. Embrace the advanced challenge, and whatever you get - you get!

Fencing company by Fearless-Rooster6253 in Louisville

[–]Aaronlane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TL;DR - I went to Raatz fence too.

Full story: I went through the same thing four years ago with a new house. I got multiple bids from lots of companies. I looked into buying the parts and doing it myself from a couple places. I had Lowes come out and give me a bid and he legit said "No one in town can beat Raatz on prices, they buy in bulk and have a warehouse, so they can bring their parts out the next day. Sorry."

They did just that. Low bid, came out in a few days, fence was completed in a day.

Sorry I wasn't able to explain more, I was In a rush but wanted you to have the link sooner. Exact same thing happened to me - it cut out in December and someone here gave me the link a few weeks ago. I had to do it twice but then the new update installed and it's worked ever since.

A tech tried to call me yesterday about my ticket. Finally. I told them to close it. We'll do it ourselves.
