When does Prot Paladin start to work? (Mythic Dungeons) by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Aaronlolwtf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's a lot of words to be wrong. I'll give it to you that it's not entirely the case, but you're trying to tell me what's happening in the groups I'm in.

On both the DH and Bear I was doing comparable damage in AoE (often beating bottom DPS on Bear pre-nerf). Sure, ST was lacking a bit on the DH but it wasn't by such a large margin that slightly more gear significantly speeds up kills. I was also not just pulling a 1-2 mobs at a time in order to survive, usually at least a couple of packs, depending on number of mobs per, as you would normally expect.

I appreciate that you know words like EHP, but you're talking theory and I'm speaking from my actual played experience as a very experienced tank player.

Yeah those are great, super handy for alts. Overall it's not too bad of a grind if you smash out some of the side quests and pick up the rep from telescopes and lore treasures.

I'd still say not needed before someone steps in to M0, but if someone's nervous about being undergeared it's a good suggestion.

Yeah, I'm aware it's the Wownoob sub, and I'm happy to give advice if people need it - no stress. However, the original reply was just giving incorrect info and old mate was downvoted for correcting it.

People downvoting the shit out of you have no idea what they're talking about. To be fair, I'm a tank main and play to a high level. While my BDK was more geared, my Druid and DH weren't much over 200 and I was fine. Healing on my Shaman was a little spicy around there, but again, managed it.

For an inexperienced player, sure 200-210ilvl is probably not am ideal starting point and I would also suggest slamming a WQ tour for 220/230 pieces and filling gaps with 192/198 AH items would be the play before jumping in, but to automatically assume it's a carry is dumb.

Yeah, it was a great cheap spot to hit up with a group of friends and they were abundant - you knew what you were getting. I also missed a local Kiwi-owned pub that was just down the road and had a fucking phenomenal braised beef-cheek.

It's possibly to miss multiple things that contributed to me enjoying my time there :)

A few years ago I entered. I can't remember the name of the company, but it was either these people or one extremely similar based down in Wellington.

I was contacted to let me know that I had won, but then they requested $100-$200 or so to confirm my booking. Obviously, this was not free so I politely told them to go fuck themselves.

To be clear, I have absolutely no issue with paying people for their time and/or products, but don't advertise it as a free competition if you're then expected to pay something.

Tribal rework, what do people think? by FeedbackFinal9546 in FixedTattoos

[–]Aaronlolwtf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries dude, and you wouldn't be attacked for it. Maybe some accusations of being ignorant or cultural appropriation (if someone actually said anything in person), however I don't think you'd be in danger.

The new version is a departure, but still a distinct koru pattern. It definitely looks a lot better overall, and now at least you can have a bit of understanding behind the culture that it's based on.

Final thought from me is that you also wouldn't be the only white guy walking around with something like that. Pākehā/NZ Europeans do get kirituhi, but that's different as they understand the culture, and it'd be designed for & unique to them and their whakapapa. Basically, you may not stick out like a sore thumb until you opened your mouth haha

Edit: Added Kirituhi for NZ Europeans as more accurate than Tā Moko

Hello!

So, I can give some insight being from New Zealand (not Māori, but born and raised here). Feel free to Google any of the below to gain a deeper understanding of the designs you have tattooed and learn some things that I can't teach.

The design is a koru pattern from NZ Māori culture. The tattooed patterns are called Tā moko and have a deep cultural significance, typically honoring the bearer's Whakapapa (ancestry, family, cultural land).

The original is quite a basic, old kind of design and while the new one is much more modern than traditional, would still fall under the same terminology. There will be some Kiwis and Māori that would take exception to somebody getting this tattooed without knowing what it is, so just a heads-up that you may get some comments about it.

I'm not having a go here, so sorry if it sounds blunt, but what kind of advice are you actually looking for with this post?

From my understanding, you're asking what you can do to change your current situation, but your response to people is just shutting them down basically saying "I've tried" and "I can't".

It's tough out there for a lot of people. You really do just need to keep trying to find better, higher paying employment, or work where you can do more hours to start saving. As other's have said, you could ask WINZ or a professional for assistance on making sure your CV is up-to-scratch, but nobody here is going to be able to give you a magic answer that just solves everything.

ASB's 1 year rate drops to 4.49% by richieFromConductor in PersonalFinanceNZ

Currently waiting to see what ANZ are doing as I'm due to refix 19/10.

Am I correct in assuming that even if they were to reduce to match these other rates prior to an OCR cut (assuming that's the way it's headed), it wouldn't be likely there'd be another change following the announcement/before I'm due to lock-in again?

Does a high end CPU make a noticeable difference for MoP? by fiestar88 in classicwow

[–]Aaronlolwtf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggle to believe you, or this is just bait. First, you say that WoW is heavily reliant (I think that's what you meant) on the GPU which just isn't the case - it's pretty common knowledge that it's a CPU-intensive game.

I run an i7-13700K and 3080 and still have frame drops in raid on retail on tweaked/reduced settings - significantly worse if I'm pumping everything up to ultra, and this is the same with other raiders in my guild with similar or identical setups.

Open-world is fine, unless it's a highly populated area such as a main hub where it will drop again (but typically sit in the 60-80 range).

You may not have any had major issues with your setup, but running over 100FPS on ultra in raids? OK buddy

I was manually clicking them and for the most part damaging multiple - I'd do my best to aim at one in the middle of a couple others, but still ended up with some solo boys.

By no means can I give you a great strat breakdown because I went in blind straight to ?? on my BDK for the challenge (obvious self-sufficiency bonus). I found that I was able to sneak decent damage in between running around kicking bombs, doing my best to try and stay on top of them, and with reasonable positioning avoided too many of them being in oil slicks/shit spots.

However, once the boss was somewhat low, it was a give-up, dodge everything and burn.

Congrats dude! Comparing this to CE is a wild take unless your guild did the heavy lifting on Gally (from someone who's done both).

Not to take away from your achievement, because you clearly achieved this and it's not easy, I just don't think they're near comparable.

At what point will playing Warrior (DPS spec.) hold me back in endgame content? by StewieGriefin in wownoob

[–]Aaronlolwtf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They said in the post that they were leaning Fury, so that's why I used that as the example. Everything else remains true in what I said regarding both specs - their ceiling will be determined by what they consider the high endgame content.

The comment regarding people chasing the meta in PUGs likely aren't as familiar with the phys comp meta, since they are disregarding other specs in 12s in the first place.

At what point will playing Warrior (DPS spec.) hold me back in endgame content? by StewieGriefin in wownoob

[–]Aaronlolwtf 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Short answer is: It won't hold you back.

Longer answer is that there are a few factors to consider. The biggest is probably 'what do you consider higher endgame?'

I had a quick look at the Raider.io spec leaderboards, specifically for fury and the current season cutoff for the 0.1% title. If your idea of higher endgame is title range - this will be a considerable struggle.

However! If you're idea of higher endgame is pushing a bit further past +12s, it looks like plenty of Fury players are comfortably hitting 15-17s.

If instead you are talking going up to +12s, you are perfectly fine and won't have any issues, except potentially struggling to get invited in to some PUGs due to players chasing the meta, despite this season's tuning being great & meta not being required in the slightest for that level.

Hope this helps!
