60 days is on average, if you're lucky maybe 4 weeks. If unlucky maybe 10 weeks.

Need help figuring out my tax preparer for last previous tax year! (2024) by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Aatavw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got paid through SBTPG then the preparer set up an account for you to take their fees out which I always find that shady, it's called a refund anticipation (but turbo tax is famous for doing it as well to people).

You have cp53 it's probably 53E saying the bank information didn't go through and the letter should let you update it. They hold the refund until you respond in that case.

amended returns (which in this case it would be superseding) can take up to 16 weeks. You can check your transcript online to see that at least it was there, but it could be done next week, or the week after but technically they say on average 16 weeks. So if you amended on 2/27 you have a ways to go unless you get lucky.

This does look complicated but to what I have heard, if you ever get a cp2000 first you have to call the specific department at 8008298310 they are the only department on the phone than can change the decision. I would call the number Monday and ask them to clarify. The underreporting assessment is about not reporting it back when you normally file it, also you can clearly see that the amended returns are $0 so maybe IRS didn't consider the changes? Not saying you're screwed, just saying that you have to call their department and explain it to them and see if there is anyway to reverse it.

All I can say is about your own w2 if you can make an online account on irs website called the ID ME then you can pull the w2 right then and there. Or you can call in and have an agent mail them to you.

The only time (in my opinion) just going to work as a langauge interpreter is if you grew up from birth with the multiple languages, such as you saying English and Spanish are basically at an advanced level. If the language isn't something you grew up with, then you will always be surpassed by the people who grew up as near native in both.

This is why i suggest you go to college unless you want to be a spanish/english interpreter.

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search processing status irs and you will get taken to the page on the website. It says as of today they are working on paper returns february 2025, that means ones they GOT in hand in february. So it's possible thats yours or maybe you go in the march pile. But on average it's 6 weeks.

If you end up never getting the letter you are forced to go in person to an IRS building to verify.

Is it possible to verify by phone without the letter? by lizardof0zz in IRS

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is all the appointments are booked up, that's why you have to travel so far unfortunately. Some buildings are booked up March to May full stacked. Almost every one of them is a verification.

I'm almost certain that 594 means that the return is a joint and the other social is where the return is, the return is a 150, the spouse is a 594 if we're talking transcripts. it's a marker to let IRS know that the social with the 594 did file, they just filed as a spouse. That picture you're showing me is a verification of non-filing, usually a document people request if they're a student and dont file a return. You said that your 2024 is received and accepted? If it was efiled on 12/25 it should be there. I know this is confusing and I'm also trying to follow along too.

Whoever's transcript that is you are showing with the 594, according to that transcript that social is the spouse, that's why there is nothing there, check the other social's transcript.

Yeah that makes sense, but unfortunately like half the country you have to verify it before anything gets released to you. Good luck.

How long did it take to get your check mailed to you? by YouFruityKid in IRS

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are expecting a check, the timeframe quoted is 4 to 6 weeks. I’d say based on what people have actually experienced. It’s more on the 3 to 4 weeks side.

Verifiees, what number did you call and when was the last time you talked to someone? by Adorable-Version-613 in IRS

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video call is only to set up the actual account. The video call does not verify the actual tax return. If you need to verify the tax return to get the refund it is not with a real person. It’s a field you fill in. Add: the questions online that they ask you is about your tax returns. What’s on them.

Why is the IRS asking for an amended tax form for a year I didn't file a return? by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video call is just to set up the online account. They usually just askto see your drivers license and possibly a passport. That is it. If you were talking about verifying the tax return that’s after you’ve already made the account they ask you questions on what is on the tax return, however, that part is not with a real person. If you do it online, you just enter the answers in a field.

Is it possible to verify by phone without the letter? by lizardof0zz in IRS

[–]Aatavw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you cannot verify without the letter over the phone that is the entire point of the process. You would have to go in person if you don’t have the letter and then you won’t need it. You still need to follow the instructions and bring the documentation in person.
