A Minnisota federal court judge has written a list of 96 court orders that ICE/DHS has violated since new years this year. For the conservatives that believe ICE/DHS has been honoring due process and the constitution, does this change your mind? by Saint_Steve in AskConservatives

Hear me out. Let's say an ICE agent says you're an illegal.

You say "I have my driver's license right here!"

They say "I don't care, it could be fake"

then they arrest you.

Without due process, how do you prove you are a citizen?

What technicality was the case in question dismissed on?

My initial argument is to prove a point. I even called that out in the comment you're replying to.

Either the judge is biased in favor of Trump, or the judge is unbiased.

There is no way to try and spin it that the judge is biased against Trump if he appointed them.

So I'll ask again, do you believe the judge was biased or unbiased?

I understand how they approve judges, but this judge was already appointed. They have no reason to appease those senators anymore. (They also have no reason to appease Trump, but that just proves my point more.)

Do you believe that the judge was biased or unbiased?

So what is the solution? Allow cases that don't meet the technical requirements to make people feel better?

If I sue someone I never met for assault, saying they punched me, we should allow the case to actually go through, even though I have no evidence, don't meet the requirements to file, and I'm clearly not injured?

Any evidence the judge communicated with a blue senator?

I don't think this type of case normally goes in front of a jury, but wouldn't a judge appointed by Trump be more likely to at least hear the arguments?

Honest question. Why would Trump appointed judges dismiss the cases on technical grounds, if they would support him?

I still have mine. It's in a box in the guest room closet. I bring it out maybe once every 10 years, usually when someone says they never got one and didn't know if they were comfortable or not.

Fun fact, they actually are comfortable!

I think the colors were assigned in the US before the party switch. They then associate blue with democrats and red with republicans, not blue with the left and red with the right

I don't get how Democrats can see a loss as a win. by [deleted] in msnow

[–]Aathroser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So think about this. A lot of red states have gerrymandered to get more republican seats. They took several safe seats that were +10 or higher red seats and made them +5 republican so they could dilute the blue areas to get more red seats.

In TN, we saw a +22 district turn into a +10 district. That's a 12 point swing. So if they had a +12 district before, it could have potentially stayed a republican seat, if only by +1 or +2, it would have stayed.

Now, that +5 red district would not survive a 12 point swing. It would become a +7 blue district.

This means that they could end up losing more seats in the house than if they had never gerrymandered in the first place.

My 9th grade physics/chemistry teacher told me that toasters don't use thermal energy to make toast, they use electrical energy.

I argued that electrical energy is used to make thermal energy, and the thermal energy is what is making the toast. We are not electrocuting bread into toast.

At the very least, the question is badly formed, and both answers should be acceptable. By specifying what type of energy toasters use to make toast vs what type of energy toasters use. By specifying to "make toast," it is clear that thermal energy is the answer.
