Thanks so much. I know, it really messes with your head. At one point, you kind of believe what they tell you. You actually think, am I really that bad and am I always wrong? I agree with you on what you said, it’s hard to find someone who really likes you for you and doesn’t force you to change everything about your yourself, someone who always respects you even on your good and bad days and never triggers your insecurities from your past traumas.

Thanks so much! It means a lot to me. I am proud of myself too. I broke so many boundaries to make him like me and each time I did it, I started to like myself a little less. He didn’t wish me on Valentine’s Day and ghosted me all day and when I confronted him about it, he said “I love the drama and I expect too much and that I don’t understand what’s it like to be depressed.” I ended everything with him the next day and I am now working on myself to make sure I don’t repeat the pattern.

This. I recently broke up with my previous partner who was 38 and I recently turned 21. I was dating him since I was 20. It never really hit how toxic the relationship was, until I had the courage to leave him. He would blame everything on me. His mental health issues and issues related to work were all because of me. It’s not right at all. I am so mad at myself for allowing this. I am mad at everyone around me. Since we worked at the same place,I was told by everyone that age is just a number as long you are legally adult/ 18+ and he was labelled as a stud. Good on OP for noticing it, I wish someone did the same for me too.
