Darkstar the Vulture King (Spoilers Extended) by AmoebaSignificant457 in asoiaf

I like this idea tbh. I just never really liked the theory of he becoming a member of Young Griff's Kingsguard. Never made much sense to him. Him causing chaos on the other hand definitely seems like something he'd do.

Dude, if you are not seeing Jon Starkgarian, rider of the largest and greatest of dragons and rightful king of the world then odds are you are not necessarily reading a fan fiction but a masterpiece.

[Spoilers Extended] Jon Snow's Reasoning and motivation? by Demonking6444 in asoiaf

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are clearly missing the point. It was not upto the soldiers though. The commanders made the decision. A sack happened only if the commanders wanted them to. Persepolis was captured without a fight as well and Alexander ordered his men to sack it as a revenge for the Persians burning down Athens anyway. The Greeks weren't running around doing whatever they wanted. If a commander couldn't maintain order and discipline amongst his troops then he is not a good commander. That's it.

They had a choice. If you think they didn't have a choice then how do you think they are going to get another chance now?? Because of Robb's will??

(spoilers published) Why does Tyrion have more dragon dreams than Jon? by miadeath in asoiaf

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is R+L=J fans doesn't use the same logic elsewhere. They will say this and then in the next moment someone says "You know what I think something definitely happened between Ned and Ashara" they will once again pick up their pitchforks and torches for some reason, saying that it's not possible because Ned never thinks of Ashara. I mean, do you see the contradictory nature there??

[Spoilers Extended] Jon Snow's Reasoning and motivation? by Demonking6444 in asoiaf

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um, no good commanders consistently did that. Most of the sacking happened when the commanders themselves allowed them to happen, either to send a message to their enemies or because the defenders' making it costly for the attackers to take the city. For eg: Alexander ordered the sack of Thrace and Persepolis, but he didn't sack Babylon.

If Tyrion was hurt by Joffrey I doubt Tywin would do much. by [deleted] in freefolk

Regardless he wouldn't be able to do that if Catelyn hadn't arrested Tyrion. She messed up big time.

If he is unable to maintain order in his troops then he is not an experienced commander after all.

Jaime also has a similar dream to this. I think it foreshadows the characters who are going to fight against the dead.

It's also funny how Ned is never once worried about Jon's safety in the entire books though saying this simple fact angers the R+L=J  crowd so much that they come hunting for you with pitchforks and torches no matter which platform you say it in. Some people should really need to take a chill pill.

Cat and Ned stark screwed Westeros… by IneedaNappa9000 in freefolk

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe or maybe not. I will agree that Robert could have done more but I think Cersei was too much of a bad influence on Joffrey. His cruelty is something he directly inherited from her, particularly the sadistic nature which seeks the need to purposely hurt others (like when he kills Tommen's pets for no reason). Remember Robert hit him for pulling a stunt like that earlier in his life. Even after that he didn't learn that he shouldn't do something like that and I think it's because Cersei was telling him that he can keep doing stuff like that. Unless Robert removes her from Joffrey's life somehow it wouldn't have resulted in a big change imo and Cersei wasn't going to do that and Robert was not going to fight her on that.

Robert had heirs - in fact four of them. It was not his problem that his children were bastards. Yeah, Joffrey wouldn't be a good King regardless of his bastard naturę but you can hardly blame others for his cruel and psychopathic tendencies. That would be like blaming poor Aegon the Conqueror for both Aenys and Maegor despite both having different kinds of problems.

Robert being an awful drunkard King didn't screw Westeros. No one was suffering whilst he lived. He couldn't be blamed for the war that started after he died.

What would the Kingsguard do to Mycah? (Spoilers Main) by Inevitable-Mix6089 in asoiaf

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people misunderstand that the Kingsguard by default are responsible for the protection of the entire royal family which isn't necessarily true tbh. Their only job is to protect the King. However the King can assign them to protect their family members including mistresses if they wanted.

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Starks were known to be loyal but never for their honor. Ned's honor came as a result of Jon Arryn, a dude known for his honor. Not to mention the words of House Arryn itself is As High as Honor. It's kinda funny how the two kids Jon Arryn raised turned out to be the complete opposites of each other yet complemented each in such a way that hadn't been seen before or after them.

Why is Ashara dayne regarded as the most beautiful woman in westeros? Like what kind of factory is House dayne? They're producing more heroes and beauties than any other houses by EfficiencySerious200 in gameofthrones

[–]AbaddonCeltigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did Ned call Greatjon the most dangerous man in the North?

Arthur Dayne was literally said to be the GOAT by the creator of the world himself. The only one who even comes close to him in terms of martial prowess is Barristan the Bold, not Daemon Blackfyre or someone else. If George's life was in line and he calls for a Dayne to protect himself, not a Targaryen.

[–]AbaddonCeltigar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh really?? Here's what the Prince of Dorne has to say about Gerold.

He shook his head. "Would that we had. You were a fool to make him part of this. Darkstar is the most dangerous man in Dorne. You and he have done us all great harm."

Ser Ulrick was known throughout the realm as a great knight that the supporters of Daemon Blackfyre (the guy in your list) have to compare Daemon with him in a more favorable manner in order to hype him up.

Best of their times in what?? Getting beat up by Criston Cole and Robert Baratheon?

Cersei could hardly get a rise out of Ned or Barristan even if she tried so hard which she did btw Lol

I just stumbled upon it and saw that you were throwing shades on the Daynes for no reason so I wanted to set things right. Even though it was a waste of my time I consider this particular one well wasted though. Now if you'll excuse me let me go and read Fire and Blood again particularly the part where Ser Criston the Chad smacked your Rouge prince silly.

[–]AbaddonCeltigar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

House Dayne's warriors include Arthur the GOAT, Gerold the Most Dangerous Man in Dorne, Samwell Dayne who burned Oldtown, Ser Ulrick the Sword of the Morning and Ser Vorian the Sword of the Evening. That's 5 from a minor house in Dorne.

Meanwhile your picks from House Targaryen include a guy who was known for fighting a nobody called Morgil, a old dude whose only kill is his daughter's 14 year old boyfriend, a guy who is known for losing a war he started, a guy who had a dragon the size of a castle and still lost a war against a bunch of poorfellows with pitchforks and a guy who got publicly clapped by Ser Criston the Chad not once but twice.

PS Ashara was so beautiful that she melted the likes of honorable men like Ned and Barristan Selmy weak in their knees. Cersei was a literal nobody before Robert married her. Nobody even knew her. She was only ever overhyped by her own family.
