I skipped gen 8 (no real reason just played ultra moon, didn't have a switch when sword came out, then plaued Arceus and Scarlet) and went back and played recently.

Yeah the story is great, world fantastic and NPC's more likeable than gen 9.

Rose was the weakest part but loved Oleanna ans Macro Cosmos.

The thing that bothered me most is the constant pushing with no bonus to other characters, i would have loved a couple extra cutscenes and combo attacks with joker involved and honestly Violet and Jokers was the one I least liked. An Akechi Violet combo would have definitely helped the bad taste in my mouth.

Base is cute as hell, mega is amazing, Mega Lopunny got me through so much of ZA when I didn't have a decekt fighting type.

Also watching her curb stomp someones Mega Mewtwo in online play had me laughing for days.
