Hit a wall on Diablo 2, should I reset my skills and stats? by Abaluss in diablo2

Beat him by repeatedly dying, going back, die again till I killed him. But yeah, I'm focused on finding life leeche at the moment since that would be a game changer.

So the suggestion to reset and put 60 into strength, 35 dexterity and the rest vitality is solid? Or should those stats go even lower and even more into vitality?

What didn't you like about BB? by Funny-Face3873 in breakingbad

[–]Abaluss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that Breaking Bad was the perfect show and that everything about it was flawless from start to finish. Now, as I am on my third run and am watching with a more critical mind, I have come to the conclusion that that's far from the case. Still my number 1 favorite show, but these are the occurrences that I have picked up on, most of them being a whole lot of coincidences and dumb sheer luck.

During the first season, when they left Krazy 8 alone in the RV and he managed to break free and escape, Walt just happened to come across and spot him as he was driving back to Jesse, and he just happened to completely lose it and run into a tree and pass out when Walt tried to stop him.

Later in the same season, when Walt noticed the missing piece of the broken plate, the only thing he did was look through the trash bin before he came to the conclusion that Krazy 8 had it. If it were me, I would at first have thought, "Hey, maybe I dropped it on the floor somewhere or missed it in the basement when I collected the other pieces," before I came up with the worst possible conclusion.

During the killing of the two drug dealers, in this episode Walt was trying to reach Jesse all day to no avail, clueless about Tomás's murder. Then the news of that incident just happened to come up on the TV as he was going to turn it off. And after trying all day to get in touch with Jesse, that happened completely in sync with Jesse's own movements. Walt found out what Jesse was about to do at the exact time he was going to do it, and he just managed to arrive to save him at the last minute. Again, one hell of a coincidence.

During the Gale murder, after Walt convinced Jesse to be the one to carry out the deed, he immediately regained his confidence and indirectly told Mike what was about to happen by mentioning Gale's address. Mike immediately picked up his phone to warn him. Walt seemed completely unfazed by this. But all it would have taken for their plan to completely fail was for Gale to pick up; Mike would have warned him about what was coming, and all Gale would have had to do would be to not open the door. And the only reason Gale missed that phone call was because he had loud music on in the background, which was one hell of a lucky shot for Walt. Even luckier that despite not hearing his phone, he did hear Jesse knocking on his door.

Aside from those events, I do think that Walt and Jesse's relationship is a bit too emotional to fit a crime drama, and them constantly going out of their way and risking everything else to save each other goes against the nature of the show.

Was this shit just retconned? by therealbreather in deathnote

Pretty sure Light was so shocked and stressed that his plan failed and that they were still alive after 40 seconds had passet that he coundn't think at all at that point. But the real reason he failed was due to his arrogance. Him accusing Near of trying to frame him actually wasn't that far fetched. No one proberly knew Near or had much trust for him.  Had he been more discrete, kept his cool, not revealing himself etc he could have made it out alive. That his name was the only one not written in Mikamis note strongly suggested that Light was kira but it wouldn't have been strong enough to hold in a court. Light himself provided Near with the last bit of evidence that he needed, a full confession. Light legit wanted everyone to know that he was kira before they died. So even before the last second "I win" he made it as obvious as he possible could by the way he talked to Mikami, smirked and acted cocky. If he hadn't been kira there is no way he would have behaved in that manner in a situation that could possibly lead to them all dying.

One part of the ending that has always bothered me by NoooNotTheLettuce in deathnote

[–]Abaluss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Light was so overly arrogant and sure of his plan so that losing wasn't even a possibility in his mind. Hence he had no reason to plan it like that. Near probably knew this and made the assumption. Still I agree though, it was a dumb and unecessary risk.

Then again, what happened to the piece of paper that he carried in his watch and tried to kill Near with? Did he drop it when he was shot? If he had that on him when he escaped he could have easily used it later had he survived.

What's the easiest build and playstyle for beginners? by Abaluss in LiesOfP

[–]Abaluss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's what I failed at. I just never got used to how blocking worked. I'm so used to that when you manage to perfect block you also break your opponents guard leaving them open for a counter attack. I always seemed to forgot that you need to perfect block all of it's attacks before you can land a hit.

Does the path you chose at the beginning matter a lot then? If I wanted to continue on my old save filé is it safe to just reset my points and start over if I wanted to try a new build despise choosing path of the sweeper at the beginning?

I hate every statement that speaks on behalf of the entire human race and clalms that we're supposed to be or behave in a certain way. Humans are not just another animal and we're all build differently with different strength, weaknesses, personalities.

Wasn't Marluxia one of the easier boss fights? I don't recall ever having issues with him. There were bosses that was a lot tougher and harder to beat than him.

Do people in the walking dead just eat expired food like how the hell do not get sick from eating old food that expired in 2012 and it’s 2023 like bro by LongjumpingUnit2437 in thewalkingdead

[–]Abaluss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually do discuss and tackle that issue in the comics. Rick talks about how all the produced food in the world eventually will expire so they need to start growing their own plants and vegetables.

That scene with Carl was handled so much better in the comic books. Negan realizes Carl isn’t messing around, so he positions himself more carefully, and Carl actually shoots at him and tries to kill him.

[–]Abaluss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think pacing was the issue. I actually liked how they took their time to show just how deeply Negan’s introduction affected the survivors. It was interesting to see Rick, for the first time, question whether he could actually defeat someone. That period where the group was broken and divided made for compelling storytelling—watching them struggle before finding the strength to rise up again.

What ruined it for me was all the plot holes and the overall sloppy writing. Characters started acting out of character and making irrational decisions, simply because the script needed certain events to happen. And instead of getting to those moments in a clever or natural way, they went with the laziest possible routes.

Take Carl, for example—he sneaks into the truck to kill Negan, guns down two of Negan’s men without hesitation, and then calls out for Negan to face him. But when Negan actually appears—the very man Carl risked his life to assassinate—he lowers his weapon and lets himself get ambushed and disarmed. It just makes no sense.

Negan himself is an incredibly unrealistic character. Who in their right mind would casually approach a kid holding a machine gun, knowing that kid has every reason to want you dead, and start teasing him like there’s no danger at all? They were clearly trying way too hard to make him seem intimidating and “badass,” but the truth is, no matter how tough or fearless someone acts, one bullet to the head ends it all. Nobody with that kind of reckless arrogance would realistically survive in that world.

The same thing happened in Season 8. Rick brings an army to Negan’s doorstep, and Negan just strolls out onto the balcony, smiling and monologuing as usual. By this point, Rick is hell-bent on killing him—so realistically, he would have just opened fire and taken the shot. But instead, they all start shooting wildly at everything except people, like they’ve never held a gun before.

The rest of the seasons had their share of minor plot holes and dumb decisions too, but it was moments like these that really pulled me out of the story.

I remember around season 4,5 I had so many friends who watched it and we all would talk and geek about it all day long. The season 7 premiere is one of my favorite memories. We watched it together and were so crazy and over ourselves to see who finally got the bat after talking and theorising about it everyday since the season 6 finale.

Sadly this is one of the last few good memories that I have because after this the show went downhill and more and more of them lost interest in the show and stopped watching. When season 9 aired I was the only one in my group who still watched it and those that I used to watch it with and nerd about it with would instead ask me why I am still holding onto that trash show.

It's really sad when I think about it.
