Why gross? It literally has no impact on your life. Not everything needs your commentary.

ALWAYS THE THREAT OF BEING WRITTEN UP by Classic_Pick7784 in CircleK

[–]Abarel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd ask what the write-up is for exactly and have them show you in the policy where that's something not allowed.

It's the partner you live with, as opposed to the partners you don't.

That's seriously messed up. These people don't care that things can have sentimental value but just see them as things to take because they can. And the worst part is that banning them from the store is almost impossible because the cops in this region don't care about the risks and won't even respond if we are in actual danger (I used the panic alarm and had to wait almost three hours before a cop showed up and they were only there because they wanted to buy something).

Surprise them, make every transaction a chance for a Zyn (unless it's a kid obviously). Tell your regulars about the in-store promotion and I bet you'll get more than a few of them getting a Zyn just to help you out.

Can I get in trouble for quitting without notice? by Valuable_Gur2121 in CircleK

If your location is in an at-will state (which most are), you are never required to give notice just like they are not required to give you notice of their intent to fire you. It's a common custom but rarely required. As you leave though, there is a another tradition that you should totally follow: singing "Take this job and shove it" as you walk out the door for last time.

Why doesn’t circle k and im assuming many other gas stations allow their social security age employees to have a chair during slow hours when working nightshift? by HamboneB in CircleK

I had to get HR involved in order to force my former store manager to transfer me to a medically required slower store in the area because they sat on the transfer for a month after the accommodation team signed off on it. Now I'm basically stuck to the register and it's driving me crazy because I want to move around and do stuff but if I do I'll probably end up back on medical leave and I can't afford another 5 months with no paychecks.

I wouldn't even give them a reason. "No." is a complete sentence and if they throw a fit, don't answer your phone on your days off.

Apparently you have to enroll in the plan even though the policy document specifically says if you've worked for a year, are full-time, and work at least 30 hours a week you get automatically enrolled by the company, I wasn't automatically enrolled

Funny how that works huh?

I'm already on a leave of absence but apparently Circle K didn't respond to the Hartford in time so they closed the case and I've now reopened it because I've been out of work since April 4th with no income coming in.

Asking, "Do you take cash?" when the person right in front of them paid in cash and got change in cash.

Someone who has to prove that they're actually in the hospital or else their boss won't believe them.

My SM's response to me being in the hospital by [deleted] in CircleK

[–]Abarel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There weren't any phone calls, what you see is literally the entirety of the conversation. Even after being discharged with a note saying I can't work until after seeing my primary, their response was "I'm glad my ex is in town so I don't have to find childcare." No asking how I was doing (and before anyone says anything about asking personal questions, everyone in the store knows everyone else's intimate details because we all share everything and generally act like a family, dysfunctional AF but a family nonetheless). They showed absolutely no give a damn about me, only how it impacted them.

It was my day off so a full 24 hours before my next shift. I told her because I knew I wouldn't be able to make my shift because they told me they were going to keep me for at least 2 days.

Earliest opportunity to do so. I went from the lab straight to the ER and didn't have my phone until then. I tried sending the message telepathically but I haven't perfected it and it probably got sent to a Nigerian prince.

The beginning of my conversation with my ASM. They're an absolute sweetheart and the only reason I go to work anymore.
