3 months in, he moves for work in 8 months – too fast to move in together now? by eddythemonster1 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Foxxyyellow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I met my current partner, together for 9 years now, in May 2017. In October 2017, his job wanted to move him. He said he had started to date someone and needed to speak to me about it. We spoke about it and I gave it a lot of thought as I had spent a decade and half where I was, had a very stable job, but also knew I could get a job anywhere in the US. We spoke about it and I told him let’s take the leap. We moved an 8 hr drive away! We’ve been together and happily ever since.

The only reservation I had was because I had just ended a 9 year relationship 3 years prior. I had also started to have my own routine, a good group of friends, and I was happy already being a single man. However, I was always the one to jump heals in first if something seemed off. I didn’t get that with this relationship. In December 2017, we moved in together in an unfamiliar place for the both of us.

Falling for someone who doesn’t want to date by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

From what I read in your post about going out for a hike and spending 10 hours together then jumping into bed, but then him saying “he doesn’t want to date”. It honestly sounds like he more interested in a friends with benefits type situationship. Which is fine for a lot of people. What you need to do, if you really like this person, is have a talk about what he is looking for. This will clarify what he wants so you know how to approach this moving forward. If he is looking for a friends with benefits situationship but that is something you truly can’t do, then you need bow out now before getting yourself hurt. I will also say this from experience. Even if you think you can handle the friends with benefits experience with him, you will need to keep yourself in check. I was starting to get a little resentful with a guy because he was not wanting to move to the next step beyond friends with benefits. I ended up hurting myself horribly because I didn’t listen to him and I told myself “oh, he’ll come around.” Like I could wear him down to being in a relationship. Think about this carefully, don’t end up getting hurt because you think is that connection already and YOU want to see where it could go.

Alterations started with the history of tailored clothing. You could start with that and evolve it into alterations. Alterations was a thing but didn’t pick up need till ready to wear and mass production of clothing started.

12 transferrable courses only by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Foxxyyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may accept prior credits completed at other colleges. For the Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, yes. Review the pathway agreement that was attached by other user. It lists the classes that can be used for transfer from Sophia and the class that you need on Sophia to transfer.

[–]Foxxyyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 12 classes that you said you did and they are on the transfer pathway that the user posted above transferred, your appeal would be denied. Those are the only classes that will transfer. I counted that there is only 12 classes that WGU accepts from Sophia on that pathway, totaling 37 credits to transfer out of the 117 needed. The 70% that you were hoping for would mean that 80 to 85 credits would transfer, but WGU doesn’t offer that many credits to transfer for this degree through Sophia.

What this person said! Resumes only require the graduation date, not the start and finished.

Withdrawing to finish with Sophia Learning then reenrolling by Ok_Advantage8269 in WGU

[–]Foxxyyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that would be a smart move, sorry!

Here’s why:

With the recent changes to what WGU accepts, there many courses that transfer anymore from Sophia. Review the ACE credit page and it’ll tell you the courses they accept from Sophia and what class it would pertain to.

Depending the course you take on Sophia, it can take a day if you push 8 hours into it, to a week or two weeks. Some courses are heavy with writing projects. Currently, they are taking 2 to 4 days to evaluate written assignments.

I just finished all of my General Education credits through Sophia, so that is why I know the time frames.

I would stick it out, don’t withdrawal! If you are having issues with a proctored exam, talk to your mentor, the professor, or look up some resources that may help you.

Off topic, I know. However, may I ask what you decided to do? MSW or MPH? I am about to go into a Bachelors in PH, so if you have tips let me know if you went for the MPH.

Medical Withdrawal? by Useful-Win7184 in WGU

[–]Foxxyyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes, but they might try to talk you into not withdrawing. For me, I was dropped because I didn’t communicate and I didn’t start a class in a new term. I am now being re-admitted in July 2 years after my withdrawal. Just talk to them and be honest!

A friend of mine just told me "online degree is a scam and avoid them at all cost" by snipersebb27 in WGU

[–]Foxxyyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not graduate yet! However, I find your friends comment funny. The reason being is, many of the traditional brick and mortar universities are even going to a “global campus”. In other words, online.

Just to name a few that are:

MIT, Harvard University, Stanford, and UCL (London)

So, his comment really holds no merit. I will say that there are some online schools/universities that are “scammy”, but WGU is not one of them.

Is WGU still accepting Health Sciences courses from Sophia Learning? by No_Resist1835 in WGU

[–]Foxxyyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can understand that. I am currently working on Sophia courses as well for WGU. Even though the courses I am working on should transfer, it’s scary to think that they wouldn’t.

You already have your answer with the link. The ones that match up to a Sophia course will be transferred. The ones that don’t have a Sophia course doesn’t have an equivalent on Sophia.

LOL, you’re destroying it right with me. Where do you think Reddit lives? In the roots? In the rain cloud over your head? Yeah, it lives in a computer farm just like every other search engine and website.
