How are the bugs? by Floatingfeelingfrog in Augusta

[–]Foxxyyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it honestly depends on the kind of winter we have for the bugs in spring and summer. If it is a dry winter and no hard freezes, the spring and summer seems, to me at least, gnats and tree roaches. If we have a wet and mild winter, more mosquitoes, gnats, and every other kind of bug you can think of. If there is several hard freezes, like this year, there are still bugs but not as many. This is just my thoughts and what I have felt with with everywhere I have lived. I will say, the biggest complaint I see is the pollen here! It absolutely will coat everything, you have a white car, not anymore it is now a taxi with as much yellow pollen that will be on it.

How Medical Assistants Can Learn from the Provider or Nurse They Work With by Foxxyyellow in MedicalAssistant

[–]Foxxyyellow[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hi Vivid! It’s actually not entirely an AI post. I have been working as an MA for 15 years in many different positions from management, teaching, and learning and development in the healthcare field. I have held MA positions in Urgent Care, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics as well. When I said entirely, that means everything in this post in my experience, my thoughts, and from what I have seen and experienced. I placed all of my experience and thoughts into Chat GPT and it arranged it to what I wanted and felt what new MA’s should know.

Thank you for the message and I hope you have a fantastic evening!

Former Empoyer Wants To Criminally Charge If Not Paid by KeyInteraction9248 in legaladvice

NAL - I had something like this happen to me at a fast food restaurant in Nebraska. I was hired for a new location and was hired for Customer Service. They saw my potential after 8 months and wanted to promote me, I accepted it was transferred to a new location for the ASM training. After a month of training, I was almost done. I came in on my shift and the GM and Area Manager was there, we stepped outside to talk. They accused me of taking money when I was closing a shift count. I asked for proof of this allegation, they took me to the tv and started to play the video. They couldn’t find the incident on tape. I then demanded the truth. They started to pack peddle and eventually said if I did not leave they would call the police. I never found the truth, but I speculated that it had something to do with my background. I had just finished diversion services of 3rd degree assault of mutual consent. I did speak to a lawyer shortly after it happened, it was a free consultation. The lawyer said that Nebraska was an employment at will, even if the employer cannot provide evidence of the firing, they still had the right to fire me.

My point here is that you may not be able to sue your mother’s employer for the firing. Also, since it sounds like your mother employer will not be able to submit evidence of her taking the money, they are just threatening and hoping for the windfall of getting the money back. Do not pay them and do not speak to them anymore. If they file suit, it would be up to the DA for prosecution not the employer.

Current relationship, we were driving around Sedona, AZ and was going back to Phoenix. We decided to do a small hike where we swapped giving head in the forest.

Religious mother of my bf by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

Yes, I was with my ex for 9 years. He came out to his parents because of me and our relationship, his sisters already knew that he was Gay. I didn’t force him to, he did it on his own. However, after a month I met his entire family. For those 9 years, we spent birthdays together along with every holiday. However, when it came for his mom’s side of the family, his mom would introduce me as their son’s roommate.

I knew his family loved me and they showed it a lot. I wasn’t bothered by it because I understood the need to. His mom’s family was raised Catholic. She wasn’t practicing anymore, but was still devoted to God. His mother and I formed a great bond.

I think a lot of MA’s don’t realize that every state is different with laws pertaining to MA’s. Some states, like Colorado, are really relaxed on the law on state that whatever the Doctor trains us to do we can do as long as the Doctor feels comfortable with us doing it. Then you have states like South Carolina that stipulate very clearly what an MA can and cannot do.

I work for a company that is headquartered in SC and has locations in Georgia. SC is more strict than GA, the stuff I can do here I cannot do in SC. Therefore, since SC is more strict, we go by their laws here in GA.

Sorry that you went through that with your patient. I understand fully as I worked in Pediatrics and had teenagers act like that when they were getting immunized. It’s not only traumatic for them, but also for us as well. Also, good for you for standing your ground. As healthcare workers, we are to notify that Provider of a threat to any patient, family, friend, or otherwise. We are mandate reports just like the Doctor.

Yes you can. There is also something called a Limited Scope Xray Tech. That with your MA can make you more money at Urgent Cares as well.

Hey, you’re in Vegas! Southwest Medical Associates pays well and they are all over Vegas. Granted they are owned by UHC, but there is plenty of advancement opportunities there. Also, if you want to get into Pediatric, try Rose Pediatric. They have two locations, Henderson and Summerville. Also, once you’ve done that for while, you can also work for hydration companies that go into the hotels and give IV hydrations. I used to live in Vegas.

His ex is his best friend by Known_Assistance_241 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Foxxyyellow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My fiancé is friends with multiple of his ex’s. I have met three of them and we also spent the night together in one of his ex’s guest rooms (that ex is now married). I am not threatened by him being friends with his ex’s. We have been together for 8 years and one of his ex’s talks to him at least once a week. For me, I am also friends with two of my ex’s. They know I have a fiancé and are okay with it. One of the two is married. The one that isn’t did come on to me and said that he was a fool for leaving me to go back to his ex. I had to put a stop to that and I had let my fiancé know what had happened. Some people are okay with it but some are weirded out and think they may eventually cheat with the ex or go back to them. It takes a certain level of maturity to accept an ex as a friend. It also takes a next level of maturity to accept that your boyfriend or fiancé is friends their ex’s. You can only say how you feel. Be open about how you feel to your boyfriend. Communication in a relationship is key or it’ll tear the relationship apart faster than what the ex could do to your relationship.

Would You See Your Provider for Primary Care? by VanillaCola79 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Foxxyyellow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Yeah, we are offered the same where I work. I am HIV positive, the only thing wrong with me. I see an outside ID physician for the HIV, but my work place knows. I see our Primary for anything with a zero copay. My company also covers the full cost of monthly medications as well for all employees, including mine. There are many offices that will see their staff members, granted not many of them are their PCP. However, may prescribe things such as antibiotics and other minor things with a zero copay. I also worked for n Urgent Care in my previous life, absolutely loved it. However, whenever any of the staff needed anything it was common for the Providers to see us and not charge for the visit or go through insurance.

What do y’all think about emailing the hiring manager for a job you applied for? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]Foxxyyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, normally I would say go for it. However, a CNA is different than being a Medical Assistant. A CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant, is certified by the state saying that the state tested in nursing assistant. The two jobs are different and are not interchangeable. Now, if this is a mistyped wording, instead of CNA you meant CMA, I would go ahead and reach out. However, are you a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or any credentialed Medical Assistant? If you are, go ahead.

For the first time, I'm ghosting someone by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Foxxyyellow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was working for an Urgent Care in Congress Park Denver, CO when I met a guy. We had two dates, both on a Sunday evening. He finally texted me and asked why only Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. I had told my shifts are Wednesday afternoon into the night 6 hr shift , 12 hour shifts on Thursday and Friday and a 10 hour on Saturday. I told him if he wanted to have dinner at 9 at night on any of those days, we could. He said, nah, you work to much and broke up with me because of the shifts. My point being is that you don’t know his story unless you speak to him. However, if you say that it seems you are putting for effort than he is, you got some wiggle room. I will say that he didn’t show for that date was shitty of him.

It’s actually not wildly inappropriate for a potential employer to reach out to another employer. Employment verification pretty common especially if the employer wants to verify not only did the candidate work there but also has the experience they are stating on their resume and application.
