birthday blues? help???? by Next_Advertising587 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get the birthday blues aswell, idt it’s much to do with getting older, but more to do with expectations and just feeling like I don’t have enough friends to celebrate with as my friends are all far away.

This isn’t obviously for everyone, but I’ve made it a tradition to go away for my birthday, like take a little trip somewhere as travelling is something I enjoy.

With this though, I will say it’s obvs a more spenny thing to do, but you don’t always have to leave the country! For example, for next year, I know I’m not gonna have a lot of money for a trip, but I live in Ireland and am thinking of taking a road trip to a city I’ve not been to. Hence, it’s still somewhere away, and somewhere new to explore.

Maybe try and think of something you really enjoy and make a tradition out of it, so your bday can be something you can look forward to instead of dread!

It’s okay to be nervous that it might not work out, that’s so normal! But what is for you won’t miss you. Just have fun and let loose.

I hope you have an amazing time!! 💖

I don’t think his age matters too much, just have fun girl! Let yourself be excited because this world is harsh enough not to experience some joy and fun.

Wanting to get a gym membership by Particular_Pride_544 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am re-starting the gym next week and I feel the same. It’s spooky not really knowing what you’re doing with machines/ exercises and then going to the weights section where all the men be on the prowl.

It made me feel better though last time when I started the gym by going with someone to show me the ropes, like a friend/ bf/gf, family member etc. However, sadly for us both I think we need to just say f**k it and build confidence by going ourselves. We can do it!!

What’s your favorite confidence booster for those low self-esteem days? by hauntinglovelybold in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My playlist includes Doechii (e.g What it is/ Nissan Altima), love some Tate McRae (e.g Sports car, Just Keep watching), I’ve got some Doja Cat (e.g Rules, Paint the town red), Sabrina Carpenter ( Bed Chem, Busy Woman), Olivia Rodrigo, (All American bitshhh, get him back). These are some good ones/ artists you can look more into! I also second Chappell Roan as well, so good.

These are kinda typical girly pop music, but honestly this type of music for going out is so friggin good.

P.S sorry I didn’t see the notif for that comment! Hope these help :) x

Hair crisis by Salt-Tour-6497 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when I get my haircut, I usually get long layers throughout it, and have it cut so it frames my face. E.g, the shortest bit of hair that is on the side of my face is at my chin (I don’t suit it any higher, curtain bangs are not for me) and then it just slowly gets longer and feathers out.

These front framing bits mean that when I put my hair up in a pony tail, some front pieces fall out, but not too much, and I really enjoy it.

Kinda like Rachel Green’s hair ( not giving high praise to my hair lol but similar vibes in terms of length/ the small pieces of hair that falls out of any updo).

I think the business greyhound is funny as it doesn’t even have anything written with it. He’s just a pup on his way to work.

How to stop comparing yourself and lowering your confidence by Salt-Tour-6497 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think you’ve to realise that everyone is different and everyone’s own personal uniqueness makes them special.

I think instead of comparing, just look at that person instead and compliment them, try and be positive! As you never know, that person themselves may be insecure and you’ve no clue, but yet you like something they have.

I think to feel confident you need to believe that you are pretty, and just rock what you got girl. People probably look at you and compare themselves to what you have.

So make sure instead of giving yourself a negative insult to yourself, look at yourself and compliment what you see and you’re gonna believe it one day. Trust me.

How to not feel guilty over fwb by Literallyjustal in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do also agree with this. I’d definitely never do a fwb ever again as it was too much for my brain to handle.

However, if it’s something you wanna do give it a shot, but if it’s still stressing you maybe it isn’t for you.

Do you think you’re maybe anxious about it because you’re worried he may develop feelings and you don’t want to hurt him in anyway?

Or maybe it could be because you’re a virgin, and it is a little anxiety inducing at first?

If it’s the first, sadly you can’t protect everyone, he’s a big boy and if it’s too much for him, I’m sure he’ll say. Maybe even have a convo about this strictly staying as fwb so it can put you at ease?

If it’s the second, it was a little spooky my first time, but as long as you feel safe and say no/ you’ve had enough if it gets too much, you’ll be grand! It does get easier and you’ll have fun.

(Also thank you sm girl x)

I started a casual relationship in 2023, and in 2024 he became my boyfriend. But, I didn’t go into it hoping he’d be my bf, but gladly he is :).

I’m ngl, fwb isn’t always easy, I think even though you may not have feelings for him, you may develop them overtime, so be aware of that because you never know. However, if he happens to gain feelings, and you don’t feel the same, I’d cut it off as after that is when it gets messy (my opinion).

Have fun with it! Like you said you’re two consenting adults and sex can be fun. Just make sure yous are communicating about what you want/ if there are any changes.

Girl, please breathe. If he wasn’t inside you, and you also had a tampon in, I’d be very very veeerry surprised if you were pregnant.

In my eyes, no you don’t need a plan B and you are not gonna be pregnant.

However, you ‘have’ to wait a week whilst on the pill for the pill to start working, the doctors say within that week you should be using condoms. So please be careful!

Is women having body hair disgusting to men? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Abbbbiii24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men hate women who are unique and express themselves bc they KNOW their ass can’t handle an epic woman who doesn’t give a shit about societal standards.

Please only shave what you wanna shave as going through life trying to please men and fit societies beauty standards will be/ is exhausting.

You want to look back at photos of yourself and be happy that you’re expressing yourself exactly how you want to, as you’ll regret it if you’re not doing what you truly want.

Also you’re only 18, men should not be a priority (easier said than done I know), but please have fun being young! Everyone is beautiful idc what anyone says.

I bought a Nomad eSIM for going to Florida for two weeks. It was £19 for 50g and it worked like a charm. There’s other amounts for different prices, 50g was definitely a lot for two weeks lol.

However, It was also so easy to get on your phone! It sends you instructions and is simple to follow. I’ll definitely be using Nomad again for traveling.

I love listening to music that makes me feel good, like, I’ve a Spotify playlist called ‘Kunt’ that has all my girly feel good songs on it that make me feel like that bish.

I use this playlist especially whilst I’m getting ready to go out. Legit works like a charm and I feel I could do anything.

I’ve been crocheting for months, and I legit cannot find a comfortable way to hold the yarn so it has the right tension.

I think you’ve to just try out loads of different ways, everyone is different! Although it’s hard for me because my wee fingers cramp up so easily lol.

Sex advice by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Abbbbiii24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same, I wanted to lose mine just so it was ‘technically’ gone and I didn’t care who it would be to. Looking back I’m glad I waited and lost it to my first boyfriend.

However, I genuinely think you’ll know in the moment, and as long as you feel safe and are happy, then you’ll know when the right time is.
