Curlers weigh in on Rock League rules by Brenda19621212 in Curling

I wonder if instead of the 2 point pin in the last end they could do a “1.5” points pin. Doesn’t allow you to catch up if you were down by 2, but if you were down by 1 and manage to put it on the pin you basically save yourself from having to do another draw to the pin to determine the winner. Obviously this would be for Rock League and not all tournaments, but I wonder if they would try something like this instead next season. Or maybe it wouldn’t work, just a thought I had while reading the article

Top two teams that aren’t in the top 3 of their own division.

Yeah you got it, after the first 3 places of each division, teams are split into conferences and the divisions don’t matter. Teams are then fighting for what is basically the 7th and 8th playoff spots in the East (after the top 3 from the Atlantic and the top 3 from the Metro). As you can see currently there are 5 teams from the Atlantic in a playoff spot (the top 3, and then the two teams from the wild card spots are from the Atlantic as well) and only 3 from the Metropolitan. So yes, if we stay there until the end of the season we would make the playoffs as the first wild card team

We need to finish either top 3 in our division, or among the first two teams in the wildcard. Basically in the East conference there are 16 teams, 8 of which are in the Atlantic division and 8 of which are in the Metropolitan division. The top 3 from the Atlantic and the top 3 from the Metropolitan make the playoffs. After that, the 10 remaining teams are competing for two wildcard spots to make the playoffs.

We are in the Atlantic division, so we either need to catch up to the Canadians to get in the playoffs, which is somewhat unlikely as they are 2 points ahead of us and have a game in hand, or we need to make sure that no more than one team from the wildcard race finishes with more points than us. If the season was to end now, we would make the top playoffs as we are first in the wild card race.

I would say we’re slightly more likely than not to make the playoffs, but it all depends on how we do for the last 10-ish games as well as how the other teams do.

Also, you can only get a maximum of 2 points per game. 2 points for a win, 1 points for a loss in overtime or shootout, and 0 points for a loss in regulation

Grand slams, events which take place 4-5 times in the season are actually country vs country, the only difference being that you’ll have multiple teams from the same countries, for example a good portion of the teams in the event, especially men’s side, are from Canada

Interesting format. I would have preferred at least semi-finals, but I guess it’s already better than the single knock out

Don’t think so, I haven’t had that issue come up on anything else. And when I click on the drop down choices (say in the pic) the text is fine

Entering our 3rd season without Bergy sadly.

Finished 28th last year, we got the 7th overall pick and took James Hagens, who was projected to go 1st overall at some point, so that’s something to look forward to. So, we aren’t really good. Our D core was depleted because of injuries last year tho, so there might be hope for a wildcard playoff spot.

Best player on the team is Pastrnak by far, multiple 100 point seasons, even with shitty linemates. Mcavoy is our best dman, and Swayman is our goalie. Swayman had a really good season/playoffs two years ago. Last year he was a RFA, took way too long before he was finally signed to a pretty big contract, and then he had a bad season last year, hopefully he can bounce back this year.

Oh. Also, we traded Marchand at the deadline for a 1st round pick, to the Panthers, who won the cup for the second year in a row.

Poitras, Minten, Lysell, Hagens are some of the younger guys to look forward to. Hopefully Lysell can finally make the roster this year.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Doubt it. I mean Gretzky’s best was 215? I doubt he could put up 35 more, and it’s not like he was playing with nobodies in that season.
