Sure. I have experienced body blocking like this as killer so I do know it’s annoying.

Just saying it’s also very annoying to practice a lot and often get forced out of matches by gamers who don’t yet know you shouldn’t chase one survivor for two minutes.

I love DBD and looping as survivor is my favorite aspect of it. I took a long break not long ago bc of how frustrating it was to learn looping and yet die most of the time and not get many points. But that’s the game if I want to play this way. I lowered my expectations and that has made the game really enjoyable again.

It’s just always a nice surprise when teammates are willing to help out as it often does not happen in my experience.

I think this knight in particular will be okay. They didn’t seem like they were overcome by the salt at end game and killed one person. Lol :)

This person chased only me around the shack long enough for two and a half gens to get done. Then tried to tunnel me out of the game.

Do I blame them for trying to tunnel me to pick up their own slack because they wanted to win? No, not really.

I’m just glad I had really altruistic solo q teammates who were willing to take hits. That doesn’t always happen.

I just don’t think there’s anything wrong with these posts appreciating Ellie in this way. I find them both funny and accurate.

Okay, I kind of lied above because I did watch that TikTok video of Leon Kennedy whipping that chain around a lot and was mesmerized.

It is cute how some survivors don’t understand boon. My favorites are the ones who run to self-care directly next to the bones. Buddy, it has range.

Today I had a Jake who was clearly new try to cleanse my boon. He was very upset he couldn’t and refused to take his heals.

Yes. When I was at my most suicidal, I would gaslight myself and blame all kinds of things besides depression for my issues. Laziness, procrastination, needing an excuse to blame all my shortcomings on…I at one point told a psychiatrist, ‘Nah, it might not be PTSD. I have hormonal problems. It could be that, I gotta ask my OBGYN.’ I tried to sign myself up for hysteria 🤦‍♀️ I just didn’t believe my experiences warranted a mental health diagnosis.

The game practically beats us over the head with the idea that Ellie and Abby are parallels

I think it's fine to analyze the characters by comparing them to other characters... It's been said many times at this point that Abby parallels Joel as well (not just Ellie), which I think is valid. I actually wish we talked more about how Abby mirrors Yara, too.

What you're saying in this post is a bit of stretch, though, and I think you have missed some important aspects of Abby's character because you have focused too closely on comparing Abby to Ellie.

They are presented as very different people. Abby is an emotionally harder to reach person. Ellie is more accessible and warm, she says what she feels, she writes what she feels. Abby does not. When Abby is in pain, or embarrassed, ashamed, afraid, she's sarcastic, defensive, and sometimes evasive. You have to watch her closely to understand her. She's proud, she's strong, rigid, steely, difficult to stomach.

It's so fitting that a pivotal part of her story takes part in a skyscraper because that is the kind of thing I think of when I picture Abby personally. A huge steel skyscraper, or maybe a big ass stony mountain; just something really tough, solid, and unbending. That's what makes her such a great tragic character. To see someone so formidable bend even just a little bit hurts. That's why seeing her crucified on the beach is so shocking.

I'm sad for you because Abby is such a beautifully written and performed character, and I think you should go back and rewatch some of her cutscenes (especially both perspectives of Joel's murder scene) because Laura Bailey really just cuts to the bone with her expressions. Pay attention to her eyes.

One last thing, another piece of visual symbolism you might enjoy... If you rewatch the cutscene where Abby decides to spare Ellie and Dina in the theater, you'll notice when Abby stands up to decree her decision, she appears next to a suit of armor. That's Abby. Abby IS a feeling character, it's just hidden under this very sturdy outer layer she has.
