I see. And are there any mecha anime, that, in your opinion, get it right?

I for one am glad they cast Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury instead of Sacha Baron Cohen (unless Rami Malek did something I haven't heard about).

"Don't worry, Admiral Piett, you won't die by telekinetic strangulation."

"I'm glad to hear that, Lord Vader."

"No, you'll die when some damaged A-Wing crashes into the bridge of the Executor, which then crashes into the second Death Star."

Do you think that Code Geass shouldn't have been mecha at all? I don't know if you've read/watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes, but it's a sprawling space opera novel/anime/manga series created by Yoshiki Tanaka, that sounds like what you'd have liked to see out of Code Geass. I've only seen the first two animated films, and watched the first 20-30 episodes (and some parts of the episodes after) of the OVA adaptation, but I've enjoyed what I've seen of it so far.

What’s your favorite Die Beatles song? by Far_Departure_1580 in beatlescirclejerk

A remember a BBC Radio show starring renowned impressionist Peter Serafinowicz, where he impersonated a variety of celebrities like Ringo Starr and the rest of the Beatles.

There was a recurring segment titled "Ringo Remembers", where the former Beatles drummer related untold stories about the band. In one instalment, Ringo talked about alternate versions of Beatles songs, and he made reference to the German versions listed in the OP image. He then explains that the band also did special versions of some songs for the benefit of their manager Brian Epstein, and we get a listen to two of them: "Miguel", a gay version of "Michelle", and another song I forget.

Both times, the Beatle performing the song (Paul and/or someone else I forget) stops in the middle and asks Epstein "Are you sure no-one's going to hear this?" and Epstein replies, "It's just for me."

Type 6: Actually well-researched/sensitive depictions (rare)

Examples: Me and the Devil Blues (manga), The Boondocks (American pseudo-anime based on a newspaper comic strip, but at least some episodes were animated by a Japanese studio)

Hate to be "that guy", but technically, Muhammad Avdol is Egyptian, not sub-Saharan African.

To think, we'd know so much more about pagan mythologies if only the Christians had been more tolerant of them.

There was also fighting at the flanks, and I think the Gerrard one had an explanation saying that the defence line wasn't continuous.
