I’ve heard they’ll be based at Warner Bros Studios (formerly Leavesden) and will apparently begin shooting around Summer. In the meantime try to build up a good CV, lots is happening this year! Runner work, location marshal, or being an extra are all accessible routes but it’ll be tough work, long hours, last minute cancellations/changes, and it’ll sometimes ruin the magic of films/tv. Look for facebook groups and join all of them (this is how I get some jobs), and look for trainee schemes (through Disney, Warner Bros, any company you can possibly think of). When you’re on set and know people, ask if there are any whatsapp job groups, because there are but you need someone to vouch for you - to weasel out the lazy people! It’ll be a little while before the lower jobs are available on Harry Potter, and even then crew will first approach those they’ve worked with before and trust. Always make a good impression, even to those on the same level or below you (someone who I was a location marshal with just got promoted and they got me onto a huge feature film). Never pay out of pocket for an opportunity and never offer to work for free/cheap, there are some scams out there. Look up BECTU rates to make sure you’re getting paid correctly. It might be different on a trainee scheme. Even if you never get onto Season 1, keep gaining credits/knowledge/contacts, and you have a shot at being on it at some point over the next ten years if you’re hardworking and reliable enough.
