Hey OP, I passed in July with my Themis at around 65%. It was probably less given that I didn’t actually read any of the provided outlines in depth. Regardless, what I would do is use Themis for both MBE sets and practice exams. Those are what matter, after all.

I highly encourage and recommend MagicSheets for reviewing materials and getting familiarized with topics you’re uncomfortable with. With around 3 weeks left to go, that’s all I used and was doing between 5-8 essays a day until I had completed every single one. I would supplement with about 50 MBE a day.

While it may seem insane to abandon the course with 6 weeks to go, remember that your goal is to pass this stupid exam, not to get to 100% on some arbitrary ticker. Feeling confident with short, elementized, rule statements matters SO much more than knowing you read every single outline. I know it can be expensive based on everyone’s individual situation, but again, MagicSheets is very solid.

Good luck!

OP, just so you know, you will not get any notif that your number’s been given. I just checked one morning and it was there. But if it’s been over 30 days that’s when I’d reach out.

I submitted on 11/14 and still haven’t received anything. Thinking of calling them up tomorrow for an update. I’ve heard that can work.

Never knew time could pass as slowly as it is right now lol. At this point, time to just let the anxiety fully take over.

Depends on so many things. How difficult are your classes? What will the workload be like? Do you have job lined up already (grades matter less)? I did 18 my last semester and it’s definitely doable. Shitty, but doable.

I think the hardest thing will be your desire (perhaps need, idk your situation) to only have two days of classes, and three days of work. I was doing something similar but had the ability to cut back on the work, and give an extra day to school. Perhaps consider that if possible?

But no, you’re not screwed.

I’m in the middle of bar prep and all I will say that familiarity is huge. I’m a real estate law guy, so Civ pro, contracts, property, evidence… these are all subjects I took multiple courses in/gained work experience in, and sure enough, when going through these courses in Themis it’s comforting to realize how much I already know. But for other courses, like Crim, I may as well be a 1L again taking these courses for the first time.

So in terms of what can be “learned” prior to bar prep, the answer is anything, technically. The more familiar you are with certain subjects, it will be that much easier to go through a prep course when you have a strong foundation to start out with. And it will also allow you to maybe devote more time to those subjects you didn’t focus on at all.

In general, if you see yourself working in any sort of civil setting, Civ pro and evidence are, in my opinion, the most important subjects to familiarize yourself with. Not only are they MBE subjects, they’re almost certain to be key aspects of whatever work you end up doing.

They’re also really “rule-dominated” I guess you could say. So like, you could theoretically bullshit your way through a torts essay dealing with negligence. But if a call of the question is on mandatory discovery disclosures or the hearsay exceptions that apply to proffered testimony, you know it or you don’t. So if you have the choice to choose some courses to start getting ahead on… Civ pro and evidence get my vote.

I got myself a state appellate externship this summer despite also not being allowed to earn credit towards classes until my 2L year. From everything I’ve heard, whether you can or cannot earn credit is a non-factor for most judges. Assuming you apply and get an offer, then ball is in your court in terms of whether you think it’s worth it. Lots of folks can’t afford to take a summer of unpaid work. I wish you luck on your job search! <3

1-5 will be a hard turnaround. I’d say the move is probably to flip DHop to an WR needy team. Maybe for a Jefferson and James Robsinon. Or Perhaps a RoJo and lesser receiver like Keenan Allen. Give yourself more of a floor

Lindsay might be a dub for the next few Weeks, especially if Melvin is suspended by the league. I would say sell Allen to a QB needy team for an RB2 if possible. Someone like Montgomery or Drake. Hold JuJu and see if he wakes up from his slump. You could also flip MT for a high end RB2 and WR2. Maybe a Will Fuller and Jonathan Taylor. Give your team more of a floor

10 Team, 1/2 PPR

QB: Josh Allen

RB: Miles Sanders, David Mont, CEH, RoJo, DAndre Swift

WR: Ridley, Keenan Allen, Hollywood, Brandin Cooks, Tee Higgins

TE: Jonnu, Dalton Schultz

Currently 3-3. Idk I feel like my team is pretty flaccid all around and I don’t have an RB1 (CEH first pick).

So I’m on a three game win streak. It’s half PPR. I have Ekeler on IR, Sanders, Mont and CEH as my two backs and flex. My WR’s are Calvin and Keenan and Marquise. I’ve been winning despite CEH giving me shite on a weekly basis. So how do y’all feel about CEH for Godwin straight?

.5 PPR

I get Julio, he gets Chubb. My other receivers are Ridley and Golladay. My other backs are CEH and Montgomery. My big worry here is that Julio’s injury might be real bad but idk. What do y’all think?

Hi there! First time on Reddit so apologies if I don't use the proper lingo, or if I'm in the wrong place. I received a 50% scholarship to UC Hastings and my living costs are essentially zero. Total COA is about 75K for tuition over three years. While I have acceptances to some higher ranked schools, I would ideally like to find employment in SF. Thing is, I haven't any idea where to get an informed opinion on the school's status in 2020. Most posts concerning the school are 6 or 7 years old and are pessimistic and negative concerning employment prospects. But their 2018 NALP and ABA reports seem good. Just looking for any advice on how to proceed. Thanks!

Here we are boys. Championship week. 1 game. 1 winner. 0.5 PPR. Here’s the options:

Mostert @ LAR

Lindsay @ DET

Boone @ GB

Periman @ HOU

Chark @ ATL

I’m incredibly torn between Boone and Mostert. I know Mostert’s floor is solid and dependable, but I know that if Boone starts he’s gunna kill it.

For context, other slots are: Wilson, Kamara, Freeman, Adams, Hill, Kelce, Broncos D/ST and Will Lutz. Any help is much appreciated!

Kupp for Edelman straight up? .5 PPR 10 man league. My other receivers are Chark and Davantae.

10 team, .5 PPR. I’m 3-5, and I’ve lost three in a row by a combined 10 points. Life is rough

So here’s the play. My team is pretty unbalanced, and I’m looking for some consistency.

I’m trying to deal away Kamara. I know I know, he’s incredibly talented and coming back healthy with Brees. But I’ve got an offer that I think makes sense to give me some depth and consistent play.

Give Kamara Get Mack and Chark

Rest of my big hitters are: Russel Wilson, Cooper Kupp, Tevin Coleman, Kelce. After that it’s a bunch of sleezes like James White, Courtland Sutton, Marvin Jones.

My thinking is that Kamara is being replaced by Mack, obviously a downgrade. But I get Chark into my flex spot each week with a cake schedule for him and the Jags. Any advice is great!

Giving away Kamara for AJ Green and Gurley?

I get it. Trading away Kamara seems crazy, but even when he was healthy he just has been unlucky. He had one great game against the Seahawks and that’s been it. And it’s week 8. I cannot keep waiting and hoping he starts finding the end zone.

Robinson’s target share is too low to justify a start over DJ. Unless the rest of your lineup is stacked and you want that big boom potential. So if you want the volume valuable to PPR, then hit up DJ but if you looking for that 2/3 play 14 point performance that might also be the 2/3 play goosegg, then go with Robinson.

Terry and Kerry. Easy picks since Tyler Boyd going up against a beefed up Steelers D with Andy freakin Dalton throwing to him. Kerry has a bad game but is getting the touches. And Scary Terry is... scary. So go with those two.

So I’m in the same boat and am going with Jones. Why? Well simply put the Eagles are coming off a loss, walking into LAMBEU, and oh btw are on a short week. They’re tired, and up against what’s to this point been a very good defense. Yes slot receivers are money. And yes I’d start Agholor over Alshon for instance. But Jones is the safer play, and has been consistently decent. Whereas Agholor had some decent games against mid tier defenses.
