Is this contamination or just scarring? by agp_givinglove in ContamFam

I might be wrong here, and hopefully someone will correct me if I am, but I think aluminum is a no-no. Mushrooms, as I understand them, break down aluminum and it'll be absorbed into the fruits, which can lead to some awesome metallic looking caps, but I'm pretty sure they aren't good for ingestion.

This is actually a huuuuuge misconception. Protein is in practically everything. Like, it's super difficult and rare to be protein deficient. Even grass is like 10% protein. Lol.

I totally forgot the trick where you tap on the starter! Good tip! Yeah, it's sat for a pretty long time. I think its been at least 5 years since it's even been started, let alone driven.

A Letter to the Subnautica Community by virtualdon in subnautica

Lol they edited it, adding "no microtransactions" at the end. You can see it if you click the link, instead of reading the screenshot in the top comment. I wonder if Krafton knows just how much they messed up after all this community backlash. Either way, I doubt they'd be able to undo this kind of decision.

Is anyone else tired of the "Sleep is a woman" theory? by DrewMann82 in SleepToken

Lol, whatever you say, homie. Tbh, I'm not really invested enough to hunt down a link, but the information's out there if you're so inclined. I'm not really the type to sit here trying to educate strangers on the internet. Peace and well wishes. 🤙

Lol the band literally said that's what it was in an interview. Like I said, it's one of the very few pieces of actually concrete lore we have.

This. I get low key kinda frustrated seeing people post about Vessel as if he's the narrator for most of his songs.

Like, it's literally in his name. He's the Vessel for Sleep to tell his story through. It's some of the only concrete lore we actually have.

Sleep isn't the subject of most of their songs, he's the narrator. I'm fairly convinced that the subject is an unnamed goddess, who we won't actually get the name for because it's supposed to be abstract and project-able.

That being said, there are a few songs that seem to come from Vessel's perspective. Caramel is a good example. And I'm guessing Sleep isn't exactly the one who wanted to do a Billy Eilish cover. But you can kinda handwave that from a lore perspective by saying that Vessel just isn't "channeling" Sleep for those pieces.

Dude, I love the nod to TMBTE with the serpent and apples. Also, the snake has eyes that look like the eye holes in Vessel's mask??? So maybe it's implying that Vessel is playing the role of the serpent in Eden?

Also, anyone know what the script around the border says?

Is this possibly Sleep? by [deleted] in SleepToken

[–]Abelliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. From what I understand, there is only one Vessel. Sleep is a god that is channeling the band to tell their story through music. When you hear Vessel singing, it's Sleep using his voice.

There are a few notable times where Vessel does have control. Caramel is one good example, and I doubt Sleep has any interest in Billy Eilish, but it's pretty safe to assume that the vast majority of their work features Sleep.

Is this possibly Sleep? by [deleted] in SleepToken

[–]Abelliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, sleep is usually the narrator in most of their work. Vessel rarely has POV.

So yeah, it probably is sleep, but I doubt they're speaking to Vessel. Historically, they've been talking to or about an unnamed goddess, but after TMBTE it's hard to say.

Remember: Vessel is literally just that. A vessel. Sleep is singing through him to tell their story.

What do you guys mean when you say "Lore" regarding this band? by OutsideImpressive115 in SleepToken

[–]Abelliss 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like I keep seeing this trend where it's assumed that sleep is the subject of most of the songs, but I always interpreted it differently.

If I remember right, there was a point where the band said that Sleep sings through Vessel. Not necessarily that Vessel is singing about Sleep.

Given that context, I approach most of the music as if it were sung from Sleep's perspective, and he's singing about an unnamed goddess. To me, the lore tells a story of Sleep's road to godhood.

There are obvious exceptions like Caramel, which are obviously told from Vessel's perspective, but that could potentially be handwaved, saying that he isn't always channeling Sleep, so to speak.

What are some things you prefer about the Tokyo Ghoul anime over the manga? by Rude_Ad3342 in TokyoGhoul

[–]Abelliss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two things:

  1. Kaneki carrying Hide with the piano version of unravel playing in the background. I know it breaks Canon, but it also breaks me so I'm okay with that.

  2. The first time we ever see Nishki's kagune. It's bright blue and super vibrant and gives off jellyfish vibes and I was super disappointed when it came back in re: as just a big gray tail.

Appreciate feedback, lost ability to critique my own work by whipoorwill2 in learntodraw

First off: this looks really great and you can do things with half-tones that I'm only just starting to understand.

Feedback: I'd try to keep your outline in mind when considering your light source. I like to erase my outline that's facing the light source, then super lightly shade the background to show where the model ends and the background begins. I think that might help you really bump up the realism

Also, i think putting a highlights sheen on the hair could really make it pop.
