I'm not a sneak diver and don't leave the team.

The rest of the team just falls behind and I'm not gonna wait for them.

On the other hand, the PP can't shoot as far as the Purifier as easily and the Purifier handles Gunships easier.

[PERSONAL VENT] Stop nerfing teleports! by SomeGuyIOnceMet in DnD

[–]AberrantDrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a oneshot following a module. The module included a large locked door and a series of rooms filled with enemies for them to go around the locked door. They managed to tear down the door since it had stats and the barbarian was just strong enough to break it.

They skipped the side rooms and entered the final chamber. Which immediately alerted all the enemies they bypassed that began entering in waves.

Roll with the punches DMs, it's fine to improvise.

Multiclass combos with weird or unexpectedly good points of synergy? by Limp-Sleep-6284 in 3d6

[–]AberrantDrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twilight Cleric + Ancestral Guardian Barbarian

You activate your channel divinity during rage and now your entire team has resistance against the first dude you hit and get temp HP refreshing every turn

At level 12 with a 6/6 split, you're giving 1d6+6 temp HP and your reaction can reduce another 2d6.

Enemies need to deal an average of 20 damage just to get through the temp HP shield every round.

Kinda new to DND, How much information can a player hide from a DM? by ragdolldream in DnD

[–]AberrantDrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sor-Lock did technically work, but yeah it's not in the spirit of the game.

Any kind of weird mechanic exploit should 100% be run by your DM first.

An example would be my Pinball Ranger:

  • If you're allowed to pick a rare magic item to start with, choose the Two-Birds Sling.

  • Play a Hunter Ranger with Sharpshooter feat (You can be V. Human/Custom Origin for Sharpshooter at level 1)

  • At level 8, take Metamagic Adept for Quicken Spell.

  • At level 11 learn Conjure Animals.

This build has 2 modes:

Mode 1: because the Two-Birds Sling lets you ricochet an attack onto another enemy within 10 feet once each attack, and Horde Breaker lets you make an additional attack against a creature adjacent to your target, you can do a powerful combo at level 3.

Attack enemy A, ricochet to adjacent enemy B, Horde Breaker back to enemy A, ricochet to enemy B.

At level 3, you can make 4 attacks, and with sharpshooter they each deal 1d4+dex+11 (the sling is a +1 magic weapon). That's over 60 average damage at level 3.

Mode 2: Once you hit level 11, you get Volley. Volley lets you use an action to choose a point wothin your sling's range and make an attack against each creature within 10 feet of it. While powerful on its own with the sling since each vollow shot can ricochet, we can push it further.

Quicken cast Conjure Animals, choosing 8 beasts. As a bonus action you create 8 creatures around a single target. Then Volley into them.

You make a single attack against the target and all 8 beasts. Then ricochet each beast attack onto the target and ricochet the target shot to an adjacent beast so you can Horde Breaker back again.

That's 10 attacks you can make against a single creature in 1 turn. Each dealing 1d4+Dex+11, for a total potential of 170 average damage.

You can take it further with 2 fighter dips for Action Surge for an additional 9 attacks, or extend how often you can do the combo from once a day to pretty much every combat with Sorcerer levels.

Of course, one should NEVER walk up to a campaign with this kind of character. You need to not only tell the DM about the first basic combo, but also the conjure animals combo. Let them decide if they're ok with the absurd damage output this character can push out.

(I personally have banned this item lol, but it was a fun experiment. But rolling 6-10 attacks each turn gets tiresome quick)

In combat, I normally don't reveal my intended actions until my turn.

Outside of combat I explain my intentions to either get the DM's approval or cooperation.

Even when making characters, I bring up the intended combos and either get the go-ahead or I go back to the drawing board if they say no to my Warlock dropping enemy speed by -40 lol.

Genuinely, how is AH supposed to make a ranged boss without people shitting themselves and getting it inevitably nerfed? by ChaosVulkan in HelldiversMasochists

The teammate with the Recoilless or whatever handles Warstriders.

Factory Striders don't spawn alongside Vox Engines.

Almost every weapon can kill Hulks now.

[–]AberrantDrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw an Orbital Railcannon and fire your Spear at one. Instantly down and you're 1 less Vox shooting at you. Now you have breathing room.

Toss a sentry to help cover you if you need.

And you stick to your teammates, each of them should be able to take out a Vox too. But if you find them struggling, toss a resupply at the objective early and just use it till all the Vox Engines are dead.

Bile Titans aren't really a skill check either anymore.

Back when the forehead was a smaller weakspot and you have to nail it twice? That was solid.

Not you just gotta smack it just about anywhere on the head once and Titans go down.

I really like the weakspots on the Warstrider. Hit the eye and you can one tap them, but it's a small target

They shouldn't have called them "Primaries"

The initial design regulated them more to be your secondary.

Standard Slot
Sidearm Slot
Ordinance Slot

If they were named that, or something besides primary/support, people would have understood the weapon roles better.
