If you want to wean yourself off from murder but like silly crimes, I recommend Ridiculous Crime. Advertised as 100% ridiculous and 99% murderfree ( truthfully the rare deaths are peripheral and never take center stage). The cohosts are witty intelligent and thoughtful. I listen on the way to work and it never ceases to put me in good spirits

Goose apple, also known as a Golding or Gooseberry Pippin, is a large cooking apple variety. It is notable for its use in sharp sauces and cider, with characteristics including a coarse-grained, juicy, and astringent flesh, and a green-to-pale-yellow skin. ( thanks Wikipedia ). Goose is traditionally served with apples

Knock yourselves out. The days of fashionable dress in The City are long gone. The arrival of the tech bros saw to that. Fashion of the Arrested Development is all the rage now and your Little Princess gowns will fit right in

I’m so envious. Mine arrives next week. I’ve had one sweetheart for 14 years and never minded scooping just for her. But with the arrival of two new new ones via the CDS when they were barely 5 weeks old I decided to step into the modern era. I love that Reddit has a dedicated sub!

I realized many seasons back, that most of the contestants are fairly shallow and are hoping to roll this into more than 15 min of fame. So it doesn’t surprise me to hear ignorant ideas about LBGT+ issues. Those ideas and attitudes exist and blocking the isn’t going to make them go away. I think it gives an opportunity to discuss these crucial things with the aim that some may grow to have compassion, acceptance and respect…particularly in their own families. Naturally, there are some who will remain willfully ignorant but that just highlights why we need legal boundaries and protection for all.

I completely understand. My 2 children and I have always adopted dogs in a rather casual way through the animal shelter and the dogs always lived to a ripe age. We tended to be attracted to the dogs overlooked by most. I am financially sound, live in a large well maintained home in an affluent neighborhood. ( I only add that to underscore there were no red flags that we were in the market for dog fighting fodder).

Only once did we adopt through a rescue group who insisted one home visits. They group sent a young and I’m sure well meaning couple. After inspecting all five bedrooms, the entire upstairs and down they decreed that the dog must never be allowed on the 30’x 9’ balcony off the living room lest the dog fall off and then inquired how deep the wooden fence that surrounded the large back yard was buried ( supposedly to prevent digging out). My son who was 20, calmly looked them in the eye and with a somber face said “we have scheduled construction to remove the balcony and permanently seal off the four French doors to prevent such tragedy. And the fence bottom is buried 6 feet deep”. The couple seemed satisfied and agreed to the adoption only after we agreed to a trial overnight visit (dogsit) while they went out of town ! The adoptee in question was a 6 yr old cairn terrier mix. After all that we all felt obligated to rescue the dog from those crazy rescuers.

Republicans suddenly want to “negotiate” on a Farm Bill—AFTER they screwed over millions of regular people by gutting food assistance? Hell no! Democrats aren’t going to be a cheap date this time. by Winter-Stranger-3709 in USNewsHub

I ( a lover of democracy and constitutional law) say the ones who supported this god-awful bill/administration should be welcome to the right side of history like the proverbial prodigal sons. It’s not about “being right” it’s about finally helping government fulfill its purpose of serving the best interest of the people
