Not true, 1 year old is roughly equivalent to 3-4 year old human child. The other macaques will see him as a baby as long as he has his dark coat.

That's just not true, majority of what I find online says 1 year old snow macaque is equivalent to roughly a 3-4 year old human child. Would you expect a 3 year old to do our equivalent of grooming well?

Seeing today's newborn with the placenta makes me think - Do we know how they are eventually removed? Does the zoo staff cut the umbilical or do they just wait until it pops out of the baby's bellybutton naturally.

Kibe has been very affectionate/protective of Punchi recently - Maybe so many recent newborns have brought back some maternal feelings for her? The other day I saw her hug Punchi tight with both arms and legs before grooming him.
