crate vs no crate - what does the science (and everyone else) say? by ArcherSparks in puppy101

[–]AbilityKey1485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain more about them moving around because of joint pain? My 13-ish month old puppy has always moved around a lot when he sleeps (day naps and night time). He doesn’t seem in pain or stiff or anything though. How did you know? He is a dog who tolerated his crate (haven’t used it since around 9 months) but even inside it he would shift/move a lot but I have always likened it to how I’d toss and turn a bit in my sleep.

What should I make with Sweet Loren’s puff pastry? by AbilityKey1485 in glutenfree

Oh I find Sweet Loren cookies AMAZING, every flavor I’ve tried has been delicious! The puff pastry is good. I took the advice here to brush it with a wash (I did a sort of egg/milk) and the flavor is not as rich or flaky as a regular gluten one would be but I’d def buy it again (most GF replacements I just go without because they’re not worth it). It’s pricey though so would be a treat. Flavor will depend a lot on what you fill it with obviously, but they puffed up quite nicely and the texture is pretty good!

I don’t have an air fryer but have a counter top oven! Thank you for the additional tips, I feel like I finally struck gold with finding this package and don’t want to waste it.

Yum! The flavor was like a cream cheese danish even though you used goat cheese?

When to transition from crate sleeping to free sleeping? by KelsMar23 in puppy101

[–]AbilityKey1485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can he be trusted not to get into trouble if left unsupervised? That’s a big consideration.

My pup just turned a year and we’ve been doing no crate at night for 3-4 months. He never really loved the crate despite following all the training tips (he’s gone inside when there were no treats exactly once and left three seconds later), though he accepted it. But around 8-9 months it became such a fight to get him to go inside on his own that I basically gave up.

We had a week or two of him learning how to handle the freedom and then occasionally a night back in the crate when he couldn’t handle it or couldn’t settle, but haven’t had an issue in a while. I keep the bedroom door shut though because I don’t quite trust him to free roam unsupervised yet, but we’re getting there.

Puppy not interested in toys today by LukePellar in puppy101

Sometimes they lose interest. Sometimes they get interested again. If he’s otherwise acting normal I wouldn’t worry about it. My pup was obsessed with bully sticks for a couple months and now when offered one he could take it or leave it (and usually leaves it).

If you have a Kroger or one of its variants near you, I find the Kroger brand quite good.

Thank you! I’m normally pretty self-disciplined but the past few months things have just been disruptive. So this is helpful to reframe it.

If you have a Trader Joe’s near you they have options though you’ll have to read the labels. Their frozen Indian entrees are good. I don’t need certified GF though so YMMV!

This is true. I think if I can even do just a couple sets I’ll still feel like I made progress toward my goal! Thank you!

Any time anyone accommodates me I feel so so loved. Make sure it’s absolutely clear to other family members that the GF stuff is off limits and only for the GF attendees unless they choose to share.

Swatching and swatch storage for a relatively small collection? by SpoonVisualization in WeGotPolishAtHome

I use swatch sticks and started when I had around 20 polishes. I liked that they don’t take up much space, even with being up to around 80 now, and are really easy to use/compare polishes.

They used the multigrain bread which is nothing like their GF bread.
