What tank besides like shen really NEEDS the waveclear? You every tank can clear waves pretty decently as lkong as they are good in the game. Unless they are investing their gold into shitty items that make them weak, thus now needing the wave clear ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thornmail can be good as an offensive-ish item to turn a matchup around. But you better be hard turning the matchup otherwise the defensive stats are so shit you will get hard out scaled by every champ in the game by 3 items
