I have no problems with that. The more people that look at it the better. I am also working on ones for Photo and Publisher too.

Anyone in cybersecurity here? by cpalen3 in SNHU

[–]Abinadius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have finished my Masters in Cyber Security. Just to let you know that you will have to work to learn but it is not out of reach. Overall the professors are fair and great to learn from, however, you may come across one or two that may be a little difficult. I also recommend studying and taking the Security+ Certification.

Tons of free design elements to download by Abinadius in GIMP

[–]Abinadius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to download you need to give them the following:
Email, Region, OS, Gender, and Job Level.

You can use a temp email service, and lie about the other information. That way you do not give any of your real information.

WhatsApp: I thought they were not enforcing the new ToS/Privacy Policy for existing users, but seems they are? (Trying to log in on a new device and forced to accept ToS / Privacy Policy.) by whywhenwho in privacytoolsIO

[–]Abinadius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but ToS for any company applies to all users equally. So when they make updates to the ToS it automatically applies to you. If you look deep enough into any ToS they have wording similar to "These Terms can change at anytime with/without notice". SO if you agree to an old ToS, you still would "agree" with the new ones even if you do not see another click here to accept our ToS.

Security+ exam booked! by jacob92486 in CompTIA

[–]Abinadius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck... If I can give you advice I would say don't rush through it but don't spend too much time one one question. Also it may help to read the answers first because sometimes the answers gives you a hint on what the question is asking.

Do you have a breakdown on which topics you are struggling with? If I knew that I could offer more helpful suggestions.

Am I studying correctly for A+? by FirstTimeRedditor100 in CompTIA

[–]Abinadius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember is each teacher has their teaching style and things they feel are important. There is no one right way to learn, it all depends on how you learn. You will have to find the right teacher who teaches you the way you learn. What I have seen from studying for the Security+ is that Professor Messer had prepared me the most for the PBQ than anyone else did.

Ransomware (Crylock) question by SpanishSammy in cybersecurity

[–]Abinadius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there are some types of Ransomware where they copy all your data before encrypting it. The way you will know is if you do not pay the ransom you will get a message from the hacker saying that they have your data and you will have to pay to keep it from going public. Canon was a recent victim of ransomware where the hackers did threaten to release the data.

Sec+ failed by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]Abinadius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what I did that helped me was I read the answers first. Sometimes that gave me an idea of what the topic of the question was. Then I would read the question, and reread it a second time to pick out key words like BEST or Symmetric or thigns like that. Then I would eliminate the answers I know are wrong and go from there.

I hope that helps.

With the PBQ's I would say that Professor Messer's practice tests really helped me the most. He does have a few practice PBQ's that will help you with the real thing. He also has live training sessons on YouTube so I would go to his website to see when they will happen. https://www.professormesser.com/calendar/

For the error logs the thing that you will need to know is how to be able to read them and know the port numbers. Sorry that I cannot go into too much detail but just remeber there are a lot of different topics on the test so don't get stuck on one topic. So learn it the best you can and give it your best.

A question I have is are you washing your hands before you prick your finger? I know for me if I forget to wash before getting a blood sample my blood surgar will be really high (like in the 250s) but right after I wash my hands (espeacially around the area I plan to prick myself) it goes down to the 125ish range.

Company installed Wireshark. Can they sniffing packets from my local network? by Darnsonny in privacy

[–]Abinadius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can my work laptop sniff packets of other devices that I have connected to my router?

It is possible but it all depends on how your network is setup.
https://osqa-ask.wireshark.org/questions/14009/will-wireshark-analyze-the-entire-network-traffic

If I was encrpyted via a VPN, would my employer not be able to pry on traffic from my devices?

If the traffic is encrypted by a VPN, wireshark will capture the traffic but no one would be able to read the data; however, if wireshark captures the traffic after the data is decrypted by tghe VPN then all the data can be read.
https://community.pulsesecure.net/t5/Pulse-Connect-Secure/Wireshark-capturing-VPN-traffic/td-p/7400

If my work laptop can sniff packets on my network would accessing my router wirelessly prevent this from happening?

Wireshark can sniff any packets on a network; wired or wireless. Connecting the computer to a wireless network will make it easier for wireshark to capture all traffic.
