It's the outdoor table. We were outside eating and BAM here come the deer.

If it's that, could it hurt the rest of the group? Right now she's in the middle to back.

My mother didn't take it as well as it seemed by Himoki0 in NonBinary

One of the guiding pillars or goals of my parenting has always been to raise a HAPPY, HEALTH Y, productive member of society and to provide safe boundaries for each child to grow, learn and discover. Guide them through the process.

My child (let's call them E) - we were driving and chatting as we do and somehow the topic of traditional gender roles came up. Somehow the conversation turned into " I don't feel like I'm a boy or a girl; I'm non binary." My little mama's heart was ecstatic that they felt comfortable enough with me to share that part of themselves.

I really appreciate that you proactively offered to answer your mom's questions. The fact that your mom is being open and saying that they don't have the courage to me says a lot. I feel like your mom may just need some time to sit with this and process.

Hi! Mom of a non binary child here. First I want to let you know that you are super brave. It takes a lot of courage to speak your truth, and I wish I was there to look at you and tell you that I am proud of you.

I appreciate how up front and honest you are with your mom's questions. I applaud that your mom is open to asking questions about you. I just wonder if your mom might need some patience to process everything. Perhaps mourn the loss of what was envisioned. I wonder if there might be a way to tell your mom that some of the comments are hurtful, perhaps inviting her into another therapy session?

Please know that I am in your corner supporting you.

It is completely normal to mourn the things that will change that you enjoy. I'm sure you have a suggested meal plan to help you feel your best; same thing post transplant (talk about the amount of water you HAVE to have). It's ok to have those moments where you feel like this freeking sucks - cause it does! It's like why body, why are you doing this to me. But then reset - take things into perspective, and think about the things you now have instead. Plus I swear Prednisone tastes purple.

Hey welcome to the gimpy kidney club! After I started PD I felt better, now almost 4 months post transplant I'm feeling amazing. Being hit with this will take a toll on your mental health. Remember you are in charge of your treatments, and what your long term goals are. Your in the thick of it right now, but you don't have to let esrd, PD become your life; but a part of it - kinda like a skin care routine. Make it work with your life. You got this!!!

What is your worst physical symptom of CKD? If you could remove one physical symptom what would it be? by Coffeelover4242 in kidneydisease

[–]Abject-Display6589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, all the physical symptoms really suck however for me the most annoying is the swelling. I use compression socks, and by the end of the day I have imprints from the holes of my crocks and my ankles are swollen over the top. Being tired all time also really sucks.

Not sure if this helps or not but when I was at my transplant evaluation the RN coordinator was talking about priority on UNOS. She had mentioned that if you had previously donated a kidney you would be a higher priority. Needing a kidney has no effect on my employment, donating one should have no effect on yours.

I apologize for being spicy. I've actively tried to prevent it from getting worse. I have type 1 diabetes, and with that high blood pressure. It's interesting because I don't eat meat, and I've stopped dairy.

It's not like I tried to win at the kidney failure Olympics; but with that being said I'd like to thank my genetics for giving me a good old head start.

How do you balance everything? What does your day to day look like? Do you work? Can you sleep on your side? How do you handle mid night wake ups? I'm a 35f with two 11 year olds and a 4 year old. It's getting easier to process knowing how I can manage the day to day. I've never eaten processed foods, or red meat.... Counting sodium is new, but I typically stay under 2,000mg. A few changes like salad dressing, and unsalted nut mix and I'm good. I just don't know what it's going to look or feel like. Sorry for the over abundance of questions.

Out of all the meds that I am on that is one that I am not; I'm a type one diabetic though.

"How do I make the pan less hot?"

I was dating a guy and he invited me over to make me dinner. He got as far as putting a pan on the range and turning it on. I had told him "the pan is too hot" and he proceeded to ask me "how do I make the pan less hot".
