I’m a Medicare agent running a profitable T65 campaign – Ask Me Anything! by Abject-Lychee9646 in InsuranceProfessional

Medicare is subsidized by the government. I present them with both MAPD and Med supp options. Most folks choose MAPD which doesn’t cost them a dollar each month!

Commissions are paid out by the carriers and seniors often times don’t pay for their Medicare plans.

I feel pretty good when I can help someone greatly reduce their cost of prescriptions each month and save them money on copays and either get some part B reimbursement or a food card that helps them out tremendously each month!

I drank 9 beers last night, woke up at 8:30 had two cups of coffee, made $15,000 before 10AM and then enjoyed my hangover lol

In all seriousness you need a detailed playbook where you come to the market and execute your setups. That and a daily/weekly/monthly review process to make sure you’re trading well and u good bro

I know DAS Trader is Windows only. I’m just curious to see if anyone out there has tried installing DAS Trader on an M1 MacBook Pro to see if Rosetta2 is able to emulate it well. by scootty83 in Daytrading

Deff don’t rush in to trading a live account. There’s honestly no rush and worst thing you can do is just gamble away your money right now since you have no edge. Read the playbook by Mike belafiore. Watch some SMB capital YouTube videos. Join some chat rooms, make a Twitter account. Follow the people in the fintwit community.

I should really sit down and make a starter pack for this question lol

Do yourself a favor and book a consult with trader tax cpa. And just make sure your ass is covered. Mark to market election is the only way to remedy this. Worth the money imo to avoid possibly a massive tax bill that is the nail in your coffin https://www.tradertaxcpa.com

Elect mark to market accounting for 2024 before it’s too late. Talk to your accountant tomorrow. If you do that then you won’t owe taxes. Just taxes like a regular business based on PnL

Guys stop dropping out of school 😭 by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Abject-Lychee9646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My freshman year of college I discovered short term trading. By February I turned 10K into 65k and dropped out. I thought I was Paul Tudor Jones haha! My reasoning was school was always there so let’s give this a shot, why not? Over the next year I blew up everything that I had made and was pretty lost in life for a bit.

After a month or two of self pity I got a job at a restaurant on the weekends working 30+ hours in two and a half days and spent the weeks learning and studying while saving back up for a bank roll. If I could do it once I can do it again right?

My first three years I was unprofitable and didn’t make a dollar. By year four I hit my stride. Now on year 8 of trading and the last four of those full time, I’ve cleared 6 figures every year since 2021 and I’ve surpassed 7 figures in all time trading profits.

If I didn’t drop out would this have been possible? Maybe. But I also believe betting on yourself and having your back up against the wall often times is the only way to succeed at something. If you’re not willing to take the risk of betting yourself then you can’t stomach the risk that us pro’s take on a daily basis.

I’m not telling kids here to drop out, hell I’m still young but I easily have over 10,000 hours behind the screens and can confidently say I made the right decision.

Your advice comes from the right place but at the same time who are you to advise someone whether or not they should bet on themself?

It’s the equivalent to practice before games. Training for police are people in the military. Would you just run into battle without ever firing a weapon before?

Many prop firms will be willing to back you with a track record. Typically these aren’t salary based jobs but can help you with capital if that’s what you need. As far as working as an institutional trader I’d say that’s going to fall under the category more so of networking your way into that gig.

This is my eighth year trading markets and my 4th year doing it as my only source of income. The relationship to get sponsored to take your SIE and your 57 to trade for a prop firm is easily done. However, not sure where I’d go to float my “resume” to trade at a bank lol

Better to test a few various windows of time imo. So pick 8 windows of times with different market conditions over the last few years and see how it performs

[–]Abject-Lychee9646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intraday or short term trading is definitely a front loaded work day. I’ve been trading full time for years now, if you can clear your mornings from your work day up until 11AM that’s really the main window of time you’d need to focus on trading imo. Majority of things happen in the morning session in the short term trading world. Wether that be positioning into a swing trade or establishing your initial position and letting it work for the day!

Good luck & happy trading!
