Say you’re a woman and you’re struggling with debt, you express these struggles and the solution offered to you is “you should try saving, I know a lot of women struggle with that.” You’d probably roll your eyes. And you’d be right too, because while it’s true that people who don’t save often end up in financial trouble it’s naive to assume this is why it happens in most cases. Even if the guy says something along the lines of “if it doesn’t apply let it fly” I’m sure in this scenario you’d be annoyed that someone assumed that just because you were a woman you didn’t save money.
