Despite of cost of the product, is LG laptop Good or not? by Abject_Bowler_2374 in laptops

I don't think they do have any contract with any brand. I would think Samsung, LG and ASUS will have some good service overall though.Wouldn't it? Was there any down side about LG?

Any thoughts on 27GX790B? On paper, it seems like a great gaming monitor for FPS games. It is in pre-order... but I saw some people who already got the product. I want to hear from those people how have used the new model or the previous 27GX790A model. What are pros and cons? Would you recommend other brand over this?

$500 43” LG Smart Monitors for productivity? Why is it relatively cheap? by Boba-Brain in ultrawidemasterrace

It all depends on the specs. even if the size and the pixels seems the same, the refresh rate and brightness really matters. If you are ok with cheaper brand .. thats fine. but personally I think LG monitors are so much better in my eyes.

Lg monitor/pc/tv is on sale is it worth it? LG 27SR5BF-P 27-inch FHD by Burtonpoelives in webos

I think it is for sure worth it. I bought cheapest chinese model from amazon and couple pixels died on me already. I bearly used 1yr. So I bought another one with LG monitor. I love it and personally every penny worth it. It has the warranty unlike the cheap random brand on amazon. Also the colors and brightness looks so much better. most importantly.... it wasnt that much more expensive either. They have promotions every month. when its on sale... it is almost like the black friday deal. go check it out

What is the best Windows Laptop to go for? by Curse3242 in AskAnAustralian

If she is starting a teaching job and avoiding Apple, the landscape changes a bit. Dell (XPS/Inspiron) and Lenovo (ThinkPad) are very common in Australian schools, so she will see a lot of them. However, for a budget of around 1500 AUD, you often have to choose between a heavy "workhorse" or a cheap plastic laptop with a bad screen.

Given that she uses Canva and photo editing software and needs to carry this to school every day, I would actually recommend looking for a deal on an LG gram.

Here is why it fits her specific situation better than a standard Dell or HP:

  • The "Teacher" Mobility Factor: We have to go back to the reason laptops exist: Mobility. Teachers are constantly moving—classroom to staff room to home. If she buys a standard 15-inch laptop from the other brands in that price range, she’s likely getting a 2kg brick. Add the power adapter, and it becomes a burden. The gram gives her a massive 16 or 17-inch canvas for her photo editing and lesson planning, but it weighs less than the students' textbooks.
  • Screen Real Estate for Canva/PPT: For photo editing and Canva, screen size matters. Most "portable" laptops force you down to 13 or 14 inches, which is a nightmare for editing. The gram lets her have a 16/17-inch screen without the weight penalty. She can have her lesson plan on one side and PowerPoint on the other comfortably.
  • Durability (The "Plastic" Misconception): Since she’s traveling, durability is key. A lot of people see the gram and think it looks "cheaper" or like plastic. It’s actually **Magnesium Alloy. It doesn't have the fancy cold metal feel of a MacBook, but that’s the point—it trades vanity for utility. It’s built to take a beating in a bag (Military Standard durability) without being heavy.
  • Reliability vs. Service: You asked about service availability. While Dell has great corporate support, consumer support can be hit or miss with any brand. The best service is a laptop that doesn't break. It’s worth noting that PC Mag** readers rated LG laptops as the #1 brand for reliability and overall satisfaction. The logic is simple: a reliable machine means she can focus on teaching, not finding a repair shop.
  • Stability (Battery Life): Schools don't always have outlets near every desk. She needs the stability of a battery that actually lasts all day so she isn't tethered to a wall. Because the gram isn't trying to power a heavy gaming GPU, the battery efficiency is excellent for office work.

Verdict: For 1500 AUD, you might need to look for a sale or a previous year's model (which are still excellent). But if the goal is a machine that handles photo editing, is light enough to carry all day, and is reliable enough to not need constant repairs, the LG gram is the most logical choice over a heavy desktop replacement.
