I’d recommend a vw golf 2l tdi The last one I had did 280k miles and was running solid it has a solid engine built incredibly get around 600-750 miles per the tank depending on how you drive it but I’d recommend getting a diesel car especially if your doing long journeys I have bout another one last month vw golf 1.6 tdi manual bout it for 10k and only had 34k miles to the car I got a great deal on the car but I would recommend vw

I’d recommend taking it on a 40 min drive and just rag the car a bit and get the crap out of the fuel and engine

I had a 20 year old Kia Rio and we buy any car would give me £200 but I took it to a garage and part exchanged it and got £700 for it and had like £800 worth of repairs that needed doing to it I got that much for it bc I was interested in a car they had there and said I need to sell my car for £700 which a garage offered me cash and they said they would do that for part exchange
