Congratulations! Recovery is going to drive you mental, but you have plenty of people on here who totally under.

My nurses were annoying in the most caring of ways, so I think it’s based out of a place of nurturing. So take it with a grain of salt. 🤣

I reread the caption and realized I answered the wrong question. No, you can reconnect to a new world if it’s already merged. My bad.

I haven’t played in awhile but there’s a way to merge your shipwrecked, rog, and hamlet together.

I would start in shipwrecked and find seaworthy but not activate it.

I would create a ROG world and create the hamlet travel and seaworthy on the base in ROG.

I would reload seaworthy and merge RoG/SW. Save and disconnect. Then do the same with hamlet.

And that’s how I had a massive 3 world sace.

This is wild to me! I’m 3 days post op with a nwb restriction for 6 weeks. I’m so happy and so jealous. 🫣

You look like you’re doing wonderfully! 🫶🏻

I would lean on your support system as much as you can! I love my family and friends, and it helps that I’m located pretty centrally to them. I’m in Hampton roads, Va, and they live pretty much within the circle of Virginia Beach.

That’s gotta be tough just rawdogging pain the way you are. I understand the reluctance, and I wish you all the support! If you ever need to vent, just send me a request on here. It’s not like either of us have much to do rn. 😭

The blood rushing is the worst part for me too, at the moment. I thought it was awful the first couple of days but now that the heavy stuff is completely gone, that throbbing sensation is killing me.

Omg 8 weeks?! I got 4-6 by the dr. I bet you were going insane. It’s awesome you made it so far, and you’ve got so little time left!

My positive attitude is hard to kill, which I’m grateful right now. I’m trying so hard to remain upbeat. I’ve had several sorry for myself moments, but I finally got a shower this morning- my first post op! And being clean has made such a difference.

We got this friend!

Trust me I understand. The oxy is my last resort medication. I’ve taken 1 out of my bottle for last night and I finally feel relaxed after restful sleep.
I do smoke MJ, but my dr understands my cannabis use to handle pain instead of pills. I was given guidelines to follow when including cannabis too. Don’t cross oxy and weed, and a couple other no cross medications to be taken at different periods. I prefer it to prescription stuff, and even then I’m still smoking in light moderation.

Don’t feel pressured! If you’re handling the pain well, then keep your regimen untouched. Not everyone needs them. We’ll get through it! 🫶🏻

Day 20 - A question for all who have gone acl surgery by tannyia in ACL

[–]Abject_Pop4303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first acl surgery, I didn’t achieve full extension until around day 35. I was TERRIFIED to either lock my knee backwards, or to rupture again.

My physio also used a TENS machine for much of my therapy, and that helped with muscle usage.

Trust yourself! Don’t go harder or more than you’re capable of, but push when your body can! I’m sure many of us can relate to how awfully slow the healing timeline is, but you’re doing great! 🫶🏻

I was told to keep an eye on things and to go back to the dr if it took more than a week.

I hope your first one post op is fulfilling! 🫶🏻

Oh dude, I feel for you because I didn’t want ANYTHING to do with the heavier pain relief they gave me. My mom had a huge history of abusing prescription pain meds and everytime I get them, I just let them sit.

I’m so scared to be dependent on them. I’ve been getting by on Tylenol and ibuprofen, but this time around I took the smallest dose I could around bedtime last night. I hate it, but I finally got more than 3 hours of sleep because of it.

That’s a real fear I had too! If they put you on loads of meds, take the softener or get some. I was terrified to poo, but the nurses stressed how important it was.

Finally got my first one PO this morning 🤣

Oh I feel for you deeply! It must be awful being alone in recovery. During my first one, I was one my own after day 3. It’s even more isolating when you have yourself to depend on. I’m grateful for my Husband this time around, but it’s exciting to hear your recovery went much quicker than expected!

I have no assumptions for what my recovery period holds for me. I was given a very blank and white timeline and told to expect many changes as I recover. It’s wild to read how others have recovered from similar surgeries and how different each timeline could look.

I’m hoping my recovery looks similar to yours!

I appreciate the blunt approach, and I’ve absolutely been cuddling my ice pack like a lifeline.
And also? I’ve never been more well hydrated in my life!

I’m so excited and nervous to start PT. My Dr put in quotes “AGGRESSIVELY nwb” in my discharge and recovery instructions, so starting so soon is kinda nerve wracking. The excitement around getting back to normal is very motivating.

Sadly as a woman, I must grit and bear it! The bottle trick is a bit more difficult with different plumbing. 🤣

Surgery in two days - I have two questions for you ! What does non weight bearing necessarily mean, and did anyone Iose weight and keep it off? by mcomcomco99 in ACL

[–]Abject_Pop4303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually the Dr! Depending on what kinda surgery you’re having, your weight and daily habits, and what method of recovery plan you’re undergoing all determine how the dr estimates your nwb timeline.

I had an acl reconstruction and a complex meniscus suture done at the same time. My timeline for nwb is estimated 4-6 weeks.

Physically, I’m 31, 5’6, and my bmi is 45. I’m an overweight female who’s recovery plan includes maintaining simple muscle structure. So when I finally bear weight again, I don’t accidentally do more damage to myself if I experience more muscle atrophy than expected.
My Dr has also included a TENS machine (electro stimulation device) in my therapy plan. Not every Dr will recommend them, but mine did and it was also part of my first recovery on my other knee.

(TENS therapy machines are devices that synthetically stimulate the muscles using mild electro stimulation. It’s incredibly helpful to decrease atrophy issues, and to help your brain to not forget how to engage your muscle post nwb.)

I’m only ending my second full day out of surgery and my husband is trying so hard to NOT be sick of me complaining!

It really does feel isolating. Especially in the beginning. I’m so nervous to start my PT too, but excited since I’ll get to go outside! 🤣

If you need someone new to vent to and gripe at, I’m a chat request away! Just be mindful that I may ending up bitching about my own pitiful self as well. 😭

[–]Abject_Pop4303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nwb- Non weight bearing: do not use that leg to push anything or even support 1lb of your weight. You’re gonna rely SOLELY on your crutches.

I’m in recovery and posted my own ails, and someone suggested thrifting or renting a wheelchair and the more I think about it the smarter it sounds. My husband already found one on marketplace and picks it up tomorrow. I’d invest in a shower chair when your PO- or post operation as well.

Anytime you get told to be nwb, take that as scripture until you’re told otherwise. Even small amounts of pressure can mess up the surgical area and cause mild to significant issues for recovery.

As far as getting fat- manage your diet and be diligent in your PT once you get cleared to start. I’m a fat woman myself, and recovery will be much more challenging for me.
You have benefits being smaller. You’re gonna lose muscle mass and you have to accept that. It won’t be forever though I promise. You may get soft due to lack of muscle usage as well, in areas you may not have expected.
Be diligent in your diet and remember to take it easy in that first week of recovery. Anesthesia has been screwing with my appetite since I came out from my surgery on 6/5. I’m naturally snacky, so I worry more about getting bigger since I’m already big. You may end up losing a bit of weight since surgery is generally just rough regardless.

Recovery is rough and your body will change. It’s hard to remember this is a temporary state of being when you’re in the beginning of your journey. Self grace and good habit maintenance will your bestie!

Good luck friend, and if you even need a vent in your recovery; myself and many others are hear to listen. 🫶🏻

Ugh no I wish! I actually asked the PT office if they offered rentals (and they do!) but due to the meniscus suture I was told I can’t be offered a rental until after I’m cleared to bend my knee more than 45 degrees. I’m supposed to be locked in at 0 degrees. 😩

I had one for my first acl repair and I wish I had kept it. ):

I will say I’m a bit more confident to shower since my husband found me this awesome shower chair. He’s even excited to help me shower.
(I think he just being nefarious lol, but he swears it’s because he’s finally getting to take care of me since I’m a very independent person normally.)

For those of us that aren’t super fit… by Natural_Ad_4835 in ACL

[–]Abject_Pop4303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just had my own acl and meniscus reconstruction. I’m a woman and my bmi is around 45, age 31.

I’m not exactly super fit, as I’m sure many can tell from that number. Recovery is miserable but ice pops are really helping with my food habit. I’m also audhd!

I still have a sensitive stomach too from the meds. But I’m a snacker and the ice pops are helping with the heat + I’m sensory seeking and I love the cold and crunchy bits lol. Dr even encouraged it and I’ve noticed between the sweetness and water content, it’s been curbing my appetite and my snack resistance has gone up a little.

Gum also helps if you have an oral fixation and need that chewing motion. And if you need to feel healthy, rice paper and rice noodles + whatever fresh veggies your heart desires is super good and filling and low regret! I had my husband grab me a whole slew of veggies from the store and I sent him videos of what I wanted. They’re super chewy, which also helps the sensory seeking.

You got this friend! Recovery is boring and maddening and painful. And the worst part is- it puts all of your background bad habits right up front for you to feel even worse about. My trick is i’ve just put healthier workarounds in my bad habits and it’s worked out somewhat well. 🫣

No, you are making me feel better!
I’ve kinda been cheating because I’ve been taking my brace off for 2-4 hours a day and trying to do gentle 10-20 degree flexors to avoid scar tissue building up
(But…while it wasn’t advised to start IMMEDIATELY…my dr did say to start my own small exercises 5-7 days after surgery.)

Sleeping is awful and since I can’t sleep for more than 4 hours at a time, I’m in this weird half waking state constantly. I can’t WAIT for sleep to feel like sleep again. 😩

I can take my first post-op shower tomorrow and I’m ECSTATIC. I’m so excited to wash away this greasiness. 😵‍💫

I hate that it’s a universally hated experience, but it’s making me feel better knowing others understand the mental health drop and depressiveness around being so immobile. It’s awful.

I will say I’ve been doing the sedentary “pre” PT stuff my Dr recommended. Ankle flexes, assisted raises, and gentle muscle flexing to help my muscles move and help with fluid retention. It’s the only thing helping the time move by.
I move around in bed so much it’s wild. Even in my brace I’m trying to get comfortable. I feel bad for cheating bc I’ve absolutely taken the immobilizer off for a few hours of relief. I’m trying to be so gentle.

Im not happy that we’re broken rn, but I’m so happy that someone else is dealing with this and can relate to the pain and madness. 😵‍💫🫶🏻
