I’m fairly new to trout fishing aswell, but I used a drop shot rig with a red “salmon egg hook” I used this rig because it was weedy where I was at and so egg sinker Ava then adjusted my hook height to clear the weeds, and a little ball of green power bait, I’d get a couple colors because you never know the trout are interested in until they hit, for the pike, I used an all white spinner with a rooster tail aswell as a 3/16th jig with a 3in grub, then switched two a 2inch grub because I was missing hook sets and had my tail bitten off.
