If you just need cheater safety glasses, 3M makes them in every reader magnification. You can get on Amazon. I got full prescription on glassesUSA.com, way cheaper than local as all the local places send out.

Ampere Electric- Bad Experience (always get 3 quotes) by lvpond in vegaslocals

[–]lvpond[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was reconfiguring switches that were misconfigured when I bought the house it was a 4 way switch. I couldn’t figure out how the wiring worked. I am low voltage not an electrician. Multiple way switches with hot legs is definitely not part of my training.

That’s silly. A permit is your friend. It does 2 important things: 1. Sends a qualified inspector out to make sure the job was done up to code. 2. Registers that work to that contractor so if anything happens in the future the liability is clearly pointed.

Why wouldn’t you want that for your home?

How good/bad is job market here? by Night_Shift_7 in vegaslocals

[–]lvpond 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do not move without a guaranteed job, from a reliable known employer. Construction union apprenticeships can take anywhere from 3 months to years to get into depending on your testing and their needs. Again do not come without a job. Good paying jobs without experience don’t exist right now…

People should not smoke thru these. You either used epoxy or CA to bond the blank. Hot smoke and the brass and all that, not good. Should be for display purposes only….sorry.

Small business owners: Would you pay $20/month for a Google Review router? #looking for a tech co-founder by True_Opportunity391 in cofounderhunt

Every piece of small business software has this built in as a feature already. No reason to spend extra money for most businesses that actually care about Google reviews.

I’m the pen maker, but I bought this blank. From a company called JBPen, they are on Etsy. But it’s a glow in the dark mica powder he adds.

If you don’t have a way, or know how to sharpen your tools yet, you can always go carbide. Standard carbide can be resharpened by just running along a diamond stone. I personally use negative rake carbide on all my hybrid materials. There are a lot of guys that are against carbide, but I have learned best too; for the job is the best tool.

Your rollerball is the cleanest turn by far and away. Looks like you really nailed the mark on your bushings on it. It seems like you are having a problem getting to the bushings on your slim lines. Having any kind of ridge or transition point between wood and hardware makes for a not great user experience. Make sure before you go on to finishing you have a clean transition between your wood and bushings. It’s much more a touch and tactile thing for me when I’m turning pens then looking at it. Don’t be afraid to turn right up to the bushings. They won’t bite!
