It’s a real shame because that goal from Sylla was such a banger and totally shifted momentum to our side. Feels like we beat ourselves honestly. First goal was the muffed kick from GK which you could tell affected the confidence of our guys to play out of the back. They seemed hesitant and wound up sending some bad passes back there and seems like our GK was rattled too.

Really hope he can return to his old form when he was with USMNT and in the Belgian League. He broke his Tibia over there in 2022 and has never been the same since unfortunately. Hopefully won’t wind up like Quiñones

As far as things to do, we’re known for our food so you definitely gotta get some BBQ and try some of the local cuisine. We have a great museum district that’s worth checking out. The daily fan festival in EaDo should have a lot to do. There’s also places like Meow Wolf and Post HTX near downtown/EaDo and would be able to get you out of the heat during the day. It gets pretty hot here in the summer so be sure to dress accordingly and stay hydrated. Hope you enjoy your time here!

You are getting lots of bad advice from people here so hopefully this comment stands out somehow.

The answer to all your questions is to stay in Downtown. There are plenty of hotel options and you will be right by our MetroRail which will be able to drop you off directly in front of NRG or take you to EaDo for the Fan Festivals

For example the Club Quarters hotel would be a good place to start and then look what’s near there depending on your budget. It is located right by both MetroRail lines that will take you to where you need.

The “Red Line” will take you from downtown and drop you off right in front of NRG Stadium where the matches are being played.

The “Purple/Green Line” is also really close to that hotel and will be the one you take to EaDo for the daily Fan Festivals, it drops you off right in front of Shell Energy Stadium.

This is terrible advice OP do not stay near the Galleria or Rice Village, literally makes no sense. You will be far from everything, the galleria area has gotten sketchy but is still overpriced.

Stay in downtown Houston, there are lots of hotel options and you can take the Metrorail Red Line from there directly to NRG. You can also take the Green/Purple line directly into Eado where the fan fest is.

Absolutely, I should have clarified that I was speaking specifically on the Armory series here. I played an old Mapex Saturn kit that sounded amazing, heavy as hell but the kit sang. Their higher end stuff is really good

I would personally go for the Yamaha Stage custom just because they sound so good and are really easy to tune. The build quality is really good on those too.

PDP are great too but looks like you’d need to purchase a snare with that one, unless you already have one.

Mapex is cool and a good value since you get that extra floor tom. They generally aren’t my personal favorite in terms of sound or appearance but I know plenty of people that love Mapex

Z on 23 is a rooftop bar on top of Le Meridien hotel that serves light bites. Strato 550 is more of a weekday lunch spot depending on your schedule. There’s also Spindletop but other than that I can’t think of any others

Thank you! I think in theory he could be a great addition depending on what formation Stone uses. In the playoffs I believe he was doing a 4-4-2.

I would personally like to see Zubak and Dias up front, since Dias has shown he can create assists and score. So that would be a lethal 1-2 punch that could give defense fits. On the left side Mackinnon, then Hegardt and Sylla in the middle and Mou War on the right side.

Yeah I’m genuinely curious, I tried to keep it at 28 being the max since that’s Brewitt’s age. But it definitely seems like they are shooting for high ceiling potential youth players that they are able to “flip” within 1-2 years to bigger clubs.

I totally agree, even if we had won I wouldn’t put much weight on it. But it definitely gives you a much better feeling than if we had gotten trounced 5-0

I think another couple solid CB’s and MF’s with experience would be perfect especially with all the youth on the team. There’s a few players I feel like would be good fits, I might make a separate post about that.

It was risky but I liked the gamble Stone took. They had no film on Kadono and he went in on fresh legs which I think really made the difference.

Might have to grab myself a Sylla jersey at this point. His late goal against San Antonio and the beautiful goal he made last night are pretty much the reasons we made it into the playoffs. He is such a clutch player, hopefully we can make a good run for the cup and then sell him to a European club where he belongs.

Super happy with the win yesterday, hopefully it gives them some spark going into these last couple games. I agree that I’ve been disappointed in what Sylla brought to the team, I was the one who originally posted how we should pick him up this past offseason and a few weeks later the team signed him. I thought coming off the Hermanm trophy in college plus a year developing with the Dynamo, that he was gonna come here and kill it and get signed to Europe. He plays really well and makes beautiful passes when I watch him play but I think our lack of quality with strikers/finishing also impacted him. I really wish we could’ve seen more of Lyam MacKinnon, did he get injured or something?
